Mi è piaciuto Nice campsite. We chose this because of the location- it’s about 45mins away from Edinburgh. Even though it was school holidays it wasn’t very busy so the campsite was very quiet. There is woods to walk the dogs and the paths are clean. They close the gate at 11pm but if you let them know they let you in so it’s not a problem. It adds extra safety and I think it’s great. You can park by the pitch. The showers and bathrooms were clean.

Non mi è piaciuto This is not mentioned when you book it so I felt like I was forced into it. You have to pay for showers. I think it was very unprofessional for this information to be left out. Before I booked the campsite, I read the reviews and nobody had mentioned it so it looks like it’s new. I don’t think it’s fair to charge people when you don’t warn them in advance. It costs £1 for 6 mins (so it says). Women’s showers are for less than 5 mins (I was fully bubbly in the end so annoying). Even though it says 6 mins, I had put a timer on my phone for 5 mins and when the water stopped, I still had 45sec left! My husband said that it was 6 mins in men’s one. The boxes where you put the money are on the side so if you are using the second shower and you want to put another ££ in, you have to get out with a towel or so to top up. I don’t think this works.

Mi è piaciuto Great campsite. We chose it because of the location- it is close to both Lake District and Hadrians Wall. The showers were clean even though it was very busy (school holidays). There is woods to walk the dogs; it’s quite big and the paths are clean. There are a few play fields for those with children as well. There is a pub where you can grab some drinks and they have a pizza van on certain nights. They pre-allocate the pitches so you don’t have to worry about squeezing between tents.

Non mi è piaciuto You cannot park by pitch. You need to leave the car in the car park. This is usually a dealbreaker for us, but they let you load and unload by the tent so we didn’t mind.

Mi è piaciuto We stayed 4 days in this campsite and every time I went to toilet or shower, the only thing I kept repeating was “It’s so clean!” The view was fantastic. The campsite is surrounded by mountains and waterfalls. It doesn’t matter which was you face your tent; you still see a waterfall! I loved listening to the waterfalls and falling asleep at night! The staff was so nice and helpful. We run out of petrol and they offered us their petrol which got us to the nearest petrol station.

Mi è piaciuto I can comfortably say that it was the best camp site I stayed (and I stayed in a lot) the toilets were so clean every time of the day even though it was Easter break and relatively busy. I have no idea how they keep it so clean! They had toilet paper and soap all the time (not running out) The site manager was so friendly. They don’t have a shop, but they sell wood for you to burn. They give you the option to post in cash or transfer, which is great. There are shops you can buy for near the camp site. Some of the ground was still marshy, but they tell you this in advance and there is a lot of places you can pitch. I loved my stay and we’ll definitely be coming back.
