Beautiful scenery well spaced pitches

Facilities were the worst we've stayed at by far!!.

Needed a full revamp they were dirty, smelly and very shabby and didn't reflect the beautiful surroundings or other parts of the park where the money was obviously being spent.
A real disappointment and these dire facilities let the park down badly. Definitely needs sorting.

Good location with lovely views over the lake and the castle. Nice walks from the site to Castle Howard and Welburn and food is the crown and cushion was really good. Good dog walking field on site and the fish and chip van was treat.

Arrived on Saturday of the busy bank holiday and lots of tents and vans on site. Way too many for the one toilet block so facilities were always busy and quite dirty. Lots of people in the tent fields driving to and from the toilets and pot wash to traffic around the site was constant and during the night. Also quite noisy until late and was pleased we were quite a distance from the tent fields in our caravan. Not a lot of staff and only actually seen one member of staff from arriving until the Tuesday who worked in reception, the site and also cleaner of toilet block. WiFi and tv signal non existent

It was an amazing and beautiful site.
Lovely and clean facilities.
Short walk to Castle Howard amidst the wonderful yorkshire countryside.
For me the best about the site for spectacular sunsets and clear skies for star gazers.
Have recommended to all our touring friends already.

Large, relatively flat space to choose where to pitch on the non electric hook up field. Although it was busy there was still space for the kids to play. Easy process on arrival. Toilets and shower block were fairly clean and generally well stocked with toilet roll. Good location for getting to York and surrounding attractions. Nice setting.

Onsite shop only takes card payments. Toilets are not that close to the tent field, closer to the caravans / motor home pitches 🤷🏻‍♀️ which is fine by day but a bit annoying at night with a little one.
No fire pits to borrow to keep warm at night. Was noisy quite late on, lots of other sites have restrictions in place e.g. quiet after 10pm but this didn’t. Never saw a member of staff walking around. We didn’t find any places for food / drink in walking distance, all had to be driven to.

Good access to Castle Howard polite staff

Dirty showers and toilets and overcrowded .Shortage of toilet rolls badly serviced overpriced avoid onbank holidays

Pitch 7 was in a lovely sheltered spot and peaceful
The site is well maintained and staff friendly

This is a very large site which can accommodate a large number of campers. The toilet facilities is not sufficient. There are only 4 toilets and 4 showers for each gender.

Clean toilets and shower facilities. Having hair dryers already there was great. Large grass areas for large tents. Lovely walks and surrounding.
We really enjoyed are stay.

The lake was beautiful.

For the size of site, there was only one toilet/shower block which wasn’t enough to cope with the amount of pitches on site.

The staff were lovely and the view across the lake to the house was stunning

We had the pitch right by the gate to the lake. No privacy as people had to walk round the caravan to get to the gate. We were woken up at 6.45 most mornings , and being used until midnight some nights. the facilities were inadequate for the amount of pitches 4toilets 4 shower’s-for females and 3 toilets 1 urinal and 4 showers for the men .2 washing up sinks. Dog friendly site but no dog waste bins. The site was insecure no barrier for the touring site. Will not be recommending this site and am going to notify the site myself with my complaints.

The lakeside for walking the dog

Only one shower block for a massive site, therefor not enough showers, toilets or washing facilities. No security bars or cameras on the entrance or exit. The pitch we had was right next to the gate for the dog walk and the gate banged from 7 in the morning until 11 at night people walking by our caravan all the time no privacy at all we will not be back.
