On arrival the lady was very friendly, polite and really helpful, so finding our pitch was really easy. The pitches were great (shame about the weather), with loads of room and were clean and tidy and well kept with great views of the lake. The site itself was very clean and tidy and again really well kept. The male bathrooms were lovely and warm and really clean, with lovely warm showers. The on site shop in reception was well stocked and well presented. The location of the site is great, with a 20 minute walk to castle Howard itself. If you fancy taking in a bit more scenery rewarded by a fantastic pub lunch, another 30 minute walk from there will land you in the Crown & Cushion in Welburn. The food in there is amazing, and the portion sizes are huge! Really friendly village pub with lovely friendly staff who can’t do enough for you. Plus there’s an open log fire which is perfect this time of year ! If you don’t fancy walking it’s a 5 minute drive to get there from the site. Even though the weather wasn’t great, I really loved this site as has everything you need for a quiet relaxing stay away from the daily hustle and bustle. I will definitely be returning !
