Seeking somewhere to stop off for a Zeeland break? Take a look at De Blesshof, a small-scale farm site about three kilometres from the village of IJzendijke in the Zeelandic Flanders. Here, you'll get to stay in the fields, with views over the surrounding countryside and horses grazing in the nearby pastures. It's easy to reach beaches (in Breskens, 15 minutes' drive away), as well as trails in Zwarte Polder (20 minutes) and local cycling routes. The pitches here have access to water and electric connections, and have plenty of space to set up an awning, gazebo or pup tent. There are toilet and shower facilities on site, as well as a washing-up area and a launderette. This site is part of a working farm and riding school, so you’ll be able to book riding lessons while you’re here, or supervised pony walks for kids under the age of six. If you’re not into riding, have a chat with the site’s friendly alpacas instead, or set out on one of the area’s cycle routes. Depending on your needs at the time, you can get to a supermarket in IJzendijke (10 minutes by bike), a bakery in Biervliet (15 minutes) or the beach in Breskens (40 minutes, or 15 minutes in the car).

Campeggio a conduzione familiare e accogliente, con animali. Apprezzate le piazzole spaziose e l'accesso comodo, nonostante un po' di rumore dalla strada. Pulizia e servizi adeguati, in miglioramento. Affollamento in alta stagione e attese per i bagni.

Mi è piaciuto Great location for exploring. We used this campsite for a night stay while traveling to Belgium from Netherlands. Very warm welcome, easy check in, pick your own pitch quick set up and plenty of easy accessible electric and water. Surprisingly quiet to say its next to the main road never disturb our sleep. The owners came out and greeted us with their animals who look very well looked after. The toilet facilities are small, two toilets and one shower but very clean and we never had to wait for the facilities. Came out before we left to say bye and hoped we had a good stay. Definitely recommend this place. Very relaxing!

Mi è piaciuto Very convenient by the beach and pitch sizes were good.

Non mi è piaciuto Toilets were absolutely hideous. No lids/seats. No toilet roll or hand wash near the sinks.

Mi è piaciuto Super freundliche Besitzer, immer ansprechbar und sauberer Platz!
Die Sanitäranlagen waren klein, aber ausreichend, Frischwasser und Strom platznah verfügbar. Brian und seine Frau halten Ponys und Pferde in einem wunderbaren Paddock, bieten unkompliziert Reitstunden für Kinder und achten auf einen fachgerechten Umgang mit den Tieren. Davon gibt es einige, neben den Pferden wohnen noch Alpakas und Hühner auf dem Hof. Meine Tochter durfte mit Hühner und die restlichen Tiere füttern.

Non mi è piaciuto Der Platz liegt nah an einer befahrenen Straße, sodass es auch nachts durchaus nicht zwangsläufig still ist. Uns hat es nicht weiter gestört.

Mi è piaciuto Brian is a lovely guy, very helpful with any questions and had a long chat with him about his farm. We didn’t intend on staying twice but after the first night we decided to go back a few days later. Toilets were new and very clean, shower was great

For more of a taste of your rural surroundings, take bike rides along local cycle paths, sign up for falconry sessions at Valkeniershof (10 minutes’ drive) or visit Het Vlaemsche Erfgoed (15 minutes), a living museum recreating a Flemish agricultural village from the early 20th century. In a similar vein is Industrial Museum Zealand (20 minutes), full of interactive exhibits to help visitors of all ages learn about machinery and working life in the past. Heading towards the coast, you may like to visit Breskens (15 minutes) for some beach time and a tour of the Visserijmuseum, which has an aquarium as well as boats and other maritime memorabilia. Terneuzen (15 minutes) is another option, to see the Portal Van Vlaanderen or take paddleboarding tours. For a wilder coast experience, try the nature trails at Waterdunen (20 minutes). If you fancy a more full-on day trip, you’ll have plenty of options to choose from, with Bruges and Ghent both about 45 minutes’ drive away and Antwerp around an hour away. Any one of these makes a great destination, with museums, fabulous architecture and lots of excellent food and drink.
