Non mi è piaciuto Site is quite rough and ready. When you camp you don’t get the pitches with the hedges round as advertised. You get a piece of grass that is roped off and we were next to a very noisy family. Also there are only 3 toilets and they are all very very close together.

Some of our pitches are indeed separated by hedges, while others are not. However, we remain a small and peaceful campsite, with pitches generally offering plenty of privacy.

Regarding the family you found noisy, we are sorry that you did not let us know during your stay. We place great importance on keeping the campsite quiet and regularly walk around the site to make sure everyone respects this. Had we been made aware of the situation, we would of course have intervened.

Thank you also for mentioning the cleanliness of our sanitary facilities. Just to clarify, our sanitary block has 3 showers and 5 toilets. Regarding the toilets being close together, unfortunately it is difficult to place them further apart within the same sanitary block. 😉

You mentioned that you will not be staying with us again, which we are sorry to hear, but that you would still recommend us to your friends. We sincerely thank you for that!

Mi è piaciuto Location, friendly owner. Other reviews dislike the showers, as someone that has traveled i can say there are far worse out there. They were basic but clean and no coin meter.

Mi è piaciuto What a fabulous little campsite. Nice sized pitches, located conveniently to Calais port. After reading a few posters around the site, the owners are doing well bringing the site up to a great standard with more facilities/improvements in the pipeline.
It had a little play park for our children, a bar and clean toilets/showers. It was perfect for our night stay before heading to our ferry the next day after a long drive up from the south.

Non mi è piaciuto There wasn’t much we disliked, it wasn’t well lit in the evenings but this is something the owners are looking to improve.

We took over L’Orée des Caps with lots of ideas and projects, and we’re gradually improving the campsite each season while keeping the friendly, peaceful atmosphere of a small campsite. It’s lovely to know that you noticed the work already completed and took the time to read about our future plans.

Thank you also for mentioning the pitches, the cleanliness of our facilities, the play area and our little bar. We’ve also taken note of your comment about the lighting – this is indeed one of the improvements we are planning.

Regarding the sanitary facilities, we are a little surprised by your comment. Our toilet and shower block may be simple, but it is clean, functional and maintained daily. Renovation and improvement work has already been carried out, and we continue to invest in the campsite every winter.

It is always a little difficult for us to respond accurately to anonymous reviews, as we cannot identify your stay or understand exactly what you felt needed improvement.

Mi è piaciuto Lovely welcome on arrival. Good location from Calais stayed two nights. Snack bar on site enjoyed homemade pizza's and toasties. Clean showers with hot water. Lovely walks from the site. Will definitely return.

We are a little surprised by the description of our sanitary facilities as “almost communal”. Each toilet and shower is, of course, individual and has its own door, providing complete privacy.

Our sanitary block is simple, but it is clean, functional and maintained several times a day. We have already carried out improvements since taking over the campsite and will continue to invest and improve our facilities year after year.
