Mi è piaciuto The description of this site is exactly what it says! It claims to be basic…yes it is but it’s a very good basic. Drinking water tap, always a bonus. EHU, I didn’t need it but there were plenty of points for those that did. Portaloos, a dislike on a previous review baffled me when it is clearly stated in the description that is what you get. What do you expect for £10 per night with restrictions on the length of time the site can open!! They were kept very clean with plenty of toilet roll, hand sanitizer and air freshener. Shower, not a luxury bathroom but a little bit of a novelty in a horsebox. Hot shower with a decent amount of pressure and an area to change/dry yourself. Elsan point, a disposal area and a tap/hose that does what is needed. Colin the land owner was on site often and checks in on everyone to make sure all is ok. He was helpful and also informative of the area if you want to explore. Hay on Wye is a short walk away and so is the river Wye which is also a lovely walk. It is a campsite in a beautiful area with such a relaxing atmosphere and friendly people. To the lovely 3 young ladies pitched next to me, thank you again for going out of your way buying my dog such lovely treats. You were entertaining and such good neighbours.

Mi è piaciuto Loved the rustic setting, fab views and Colin who owns is an absolute star.
Easy walk to town but you see the sun rise and set from where you stay. Good for the soul to experience this environment.

Mi è piaciuto Stunning location, had a great sunset the night we stayed. River to the bottom of the site. Owner friendly and relaxed.

Non mi è piaciuto Would be nice to Gabi g flushing toilets rather than portaloos, but the site did what it needed to do and was good value.

Mi è piaciuto loved my stay at gipsy castle definitely give off the gipsy style with the showers would definitely book again and colin the owner was very friendly and helpful.

Mi è piaciuto Beautiful views and very quiet site. Colin messaged me to tell me where the EHU’s are and to choose where to park. He came round twice a day to say hello and to clean the toilets etc . I will definitely stay here again .

Mi è piaciuto Beautiful views, easy walk into Hay, red kites overhead. Lots of hot water in the shower. The owner is very nice and helpful.

Great site if do not want any amenities.

Toilets were clean, they were porta loo,s
Near to town, if fit can walk it,

Was a path to the walk along river but you had to be very fit to use it. We did not

Water taps and electric all ok,

Non mi è piaciuto Shower, floor felt like was going to go through, could see the rotten flooring which had holes in both corners, this appeared to be were water went, black mould on wood on flooring, paint pealing, not that clean and no lighting. There was a light but not working, looked like it had been like that for a long time due to cobwebs- the shower was warm though about 38/39c

Pot wash only had cold water,

Areas around toilets, horse box shower and dish wash needed attention

The toilet emptying point was about two feet of the ground, a pipe 6 inch pipe in mid air, made it difficult to lift toilet waste.

Given myself and partner has mobility issues was not expecting area around the provided services to be so rough.
