Loch Ness Highland Resort

Mi è piaciuto: The enormous, spacious campsite. It looked very fancy as we pulled in which in comparison to the place we had the misfortune of staying the previous night- let’s say we were over the moon!

Very lovely site, staff and views! The pitch was spacious. We could see you are working on your site as a whole and it seems new. Will be great when all the new trees have matured etc.

Non mi è piaciuto: The fact there is no cut through to walk out of the camping area to get to the front of the site or the village. I had to walk all the way around and I’m disabled, the gravel is hard to walk on and it’s a long way round! Please make some exits in the fences to make it easier!

The loos and showers are lovely and new, however you need twice as many because the field wasn’t even half full and we still had to queue for facilities. The one washing up station is totally inadequate.

Mi è piaciuto: Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean showers and toilets. Large pitches.
The location is excellent with near vicinity to the village and canal locks. It's a beautiful area of Scotland. Plenty of pubs and restaurants.

Non mi è piaciuto: Whilst the toilet block was clean and quite new it was small and the facilities are mixed. The cubicles are like portaloos in a wooden shed. It is a new site and has loads of potential but needs some work.
No tv reception or WiFi. This could be a plus as we played dominos and talked to each other. I won most of the games and my husband gave up and went to bed.
We could not find a supermarket.
The advertised bar and restaurant seven days a week was shut Monday and Tuesday.

Very clean
Receptionist was lovely
Large pitch
Lots of shrubbery has been planted that will soften the site and make it prettier when it all grows

Early check out (10am) and late check in made stay £38 for 18 hours so had the van on a car park in town all afternoon. Not sure why the gravel pitch needed 6hrs maintenance

Signs regarding rubbish and picking up dog mess were rude

Mi è piaciuto: Peace and quiet, proximity to village facilities (which were surprisingly varied and of great quality) and well-maintained site.

Non mi è piaciuto: Not a complaint, really - we were unlucky in that the chef for the on-site restaurant was ill during our stay, so no service. Also no wi-fi, although neither detracted from our stay.

Non mi è piaciuto: Looks a new setup with newly planted areas. Could do with grass between pitches instead of all gravel. Quite far from toilet block

Non mi è piaciuto: Nothing to dislike As its new was still being developed could do with a few more showers/toilets be very busy if all pitches are full didnt bother us but 4/5g only no wifi

Mi è piaciuto: Peacfull and spacious pitch

Non mi è piaciuto: Toilet and shower facilities are poor, only 3 toilets and 3 showers which are like portable toilets.
If you want to clean your teeth you need to use the small sink next to the toilet as no basins within the showers.
Nothing to dry your hands on after the toilet.
There are also no pot washing facilities.
Also this site is not wheelchair or mobility scooter accessible as the ground is all uneven gravel.
For the price we have paid it’s poor compared to the others we have stayed at this week.
If I had known how poor the site was I would have chosen somewhere else.

Mi è piaciuto: Warm welcome especially from Izzy at the restaurant when we had a great meal of fish and chips when we arrived after a long drive,(and a lovely pint of lager). Steve who was working on the roof of the new toilet block was so friendly and welcoming.
The site is in a different league to the last time we arrived and is so much improved.
Loads of space between pitches and very nice shower block.

Non mi è piaciuto: too much gravel hardstanding which was a pain as it was dry and dusty, but thats it.
