Non mi è piaciuto Our booking with Pitch-Up was a nightmare !!!

We made our booking only a few days prior to our arrival date, therefore we had to pay the full amount due, £255

We were due to arrive at ‘Beacon Fell View’ on Tuesday the 4th of November’25’
I received a telephone call from ‘Beacon Fell View’ on Saturday the 1st of November telling me that the park was closed therefore we would NOT be able to take our stay with them !
This of course was very upsetting and distressing, as my wife had booked time off work to be able to take a break in our motorhome.

I immediately made a telephone call to the booking agent (Pitch-Up.com)
My call was received by an automated answering service telling me that their offices were indeed closed until the coming Monday ! One day before our stay with Beacon Fell View was due to begin !

Yet again I immediately called BFV to ask for my refund but unfortunately the young receptionist informed me that Pitch-Up would be the ones to make the refund !
The weekend came and went so I called Pitch-Up to gain my refund but I was told by them that BFV would be the ones to make the refund and indeed looking at my bank account the payment of £255 was paid to BFV.
I called BFV yet again only to be told by the receptionist that senior management are the only ones able to deal with refunds 😡 and there was no one available at that time and that as soon as a manager is available I would receive a call from them !
You might guess,,, no such call was forthcoming. I called back, chasing my money ! “Ho” I was told,, “Sorry but it will be dealt with immediately” NO,, it was not and after a further hour or so I called back yet again only!! This time I actually spoke with the manager at 4.40pm (5pm close)
“So sorry” I was told “I will do it right away” I pointed out the time and that I knew that they closed at 5pm. The manager promised that the refund would be done immediately and before closing at 5pm
You guessed it !! N O it would NOT
Tuesday morning arrived ! The day that we were due to arrive for our stay at ‘Beacon Fell View’
You’d never guess, but I received a call from BFV to advise me that the park was closed so “Please don’t turn up for your stay with us as we are closed” 😡
I informed the lady of my displeasure and asked ‘AGAIN’ for my refund. She told me that she would make sure that it was done immediately!!!
N O it was not immediately at all !
I called back AGAIN only to be told that the refund of my £255 had been done but that “Refunds can take longer than payments to process” 😡 In fact “A few days”

I’m sure that who ever reads this Saga is very bored with it by now !

I received my refund into my bank account on the Friday of that week !

A DISGUSTING TURN OF EVENTS !
SO MANY LIRS TOLD BY SO MANY !

Mi è piaciuto Nothing as they cancelled on us 2 days before we went meant to stay. Which was then 2 late to book else where which wasted our time off work. Very disappointing

Non mi è piaciuto The fact we didn’t get to stay because they cancelled holiday and I had to wait 10 for money back.

Mi è piaciuto The pod was a good size and was easy to find. The bed was comfy and linen was fresh.

Non mi è piaciuto After receiving my key and finding my pod I entered into an uncleaned pod. In the sink there was at least 3 dead, dried and shrived spiders. Around the edges of both the back and the front end of the pod was covered with cobwebs. I got the impression someone had been in because my bed linen was fresh but that's all they did. Put fresh bedding down. The pod looked like it hadn't seen a duster for a long time.

Once I'd put my belongings down I went to reception to let them know. About the pod and asked if someone could clean it as I was going out and wouldn't be back till later that evening. She wrote it down said ok thanks for that I'll send someone.

In returning later that evening the pod was exactly the same as I'd left it. No one had been to clean the cobwebs away or give it a once over. So I ended up having to do it myself.

I had to leave early at about 7:30am on the Sunday and was hoping to talk to someone at reception but it was closed so i was unable to.

Mi è piaciuto Clubhouse was a good atmosphere.
Local area was lovely.

Non mi è piaciuto Pitches very uneven and expensive at £45 a night.
Amusement’s were very expensive. No 2p machines, all 10p.
Lack of sign posting for touring pitches, has to reverse caravan at reception area as it was at beginning.

Non mi è piaciuto Toilets were ok but did expect much more for the money charged

Mi è piaciuto We had a lovely weekend here the staff are all so friendly and they made such an amazing effort yo my my daughter feel special when thwy found out its her birthday ajay and zoe are such amazing hosts and the receptionist michelle couldn't have been anymore helpful and friendly didnt get the ladys name from the reception to swimming but she was also so friendly and very helpful cant wait to come again we all had such a lovely weekend ❤️

Non mi è piaciuto The touring pitches are like sleeping in a war zone . Overgrown rough very under maintained and completely over priced at£90 for two nights . Kids disco never took place and staff don’t seem to be interested

Mi è piaciuto I love the area. The man in the shop was so helpful.

Non mi è piaciuto We arrived just before 8pm as we had a few problems there was nothing open apart from the shop. I rang every option even the emergencey number and all numbers where just beeping.
