The Little Norfolk Farm

Whether you’re whipping up a dinner made from fresh farm produce or snapping a pic with the resident animals, The Little Norfolk Farm really has that rural feel. Yet, the city, the coast and the Norfolk Broads are also well within reach of this six-acre farm site. Country walks among woods and marshes are on hand too – Broadland Country Park (10 minutes' walk) has two loops surrounded by such lush surroundings. It’s 20 minutes’ drive from The Little Norfolk Farm to Norwich city centre for checking out the castle, cathedral and city arcades. For boating and watersports, The Broads are 25 minutes’ drive to the east. As for the Norfolk coast, popular spots like Cromer (half an hour’s drive), Great Yarmouth (40 minutes) and Lowestoft (55 minutes) aren’t too far off. There’s plenty of life back at your base too – namely, the sounds of the countryside and the farm animals, which include free-range hens, sheep and horses (keep your camera handy for holiday snaps). At the on-site farm shop, you’ll be able to get your hands on free-range eggs and other fresh produce; for cooking, firepits equipped with barbecue grills are available for hire from the site as an add-on feature. Breakfast hampers are also available for a tasty, hassle-free morning. With lots of space to aid the relaxing times, secure parking provided nearby and amenities such as pubs within 10 minutes’ drive, there’s lots to like about this place. Another major perk is that family-friendly street food nights are held every Saturday throughout high season for those of you who can’t say no to great food and a friendly family atmosphere (guests should note that the street food events run until 10pm).

Those of you who are seeking some good-quality family entertainment may well be happy to find that The Little Norfolk Farm is pretty close to Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure (15 minutes’ drive). Here, the miniature golf, an animal garden and a high ropes course provide a good dose of excitement. Of course, there’s more of that on the Norfolk coast, whether it’s crabbing in Cromer (half an hour), riding the rollercoasters at Pleasure Beach in Great Yarmouth (40 minutes) or beach-spotting from the Norfolk Coast Path. If you’d rather a riverside stroll or cycle, or a boat-based outing, plot a route instead to The Broads (25 minutes). Inland, you may like to visit the horses and donkeys at Redwings Horse Sanctuary (35 minutes) too. Things are a little more regal around the 520-acre parklands and woods or the 18th-century orangery at Felbrigg Hall, Gardens & Estate (25 minutes).
