Mi è piaciuto We absolutely adore Tyre Farm, it's quiet but cosy. Perfect with only a few pitches and they're far enough away you can hardly hear the others. The owners are really friendly too if you see them, but they're often busy working on the day I think.
The shower and toilet was such a lovely touch, felt like being at home and perfect for our friends who like camping with a bit of luxury. The room has a little getting ready area and wash up sink, and board games to play too.
Our pitch had a section next to it where you could sit on some very comfy chairs with a very rustic table too, where we had a lovely birthday meal which we cooked on our fire pit (although you can hire theirs too).
But our favourite part of all, was the farm cat (we called him/her Oreo but would love to know their real name 😁) Oreo hang out with us every night round the campfire curled up in our laps, and on the final night came and curled up next to my husband's head and slept a few hours in our van - Oreo was too cute!

Peaceful, spick and span amenities, lovely views, spacious pitches, lots to do in area by car, reasonable price. Looking forward to planning another visit.

Mi è piaciuto Location - walks straight from the door. Just off the main Ashbourne to Leek Road, so good transport links.
Welcoming - Karen and Andrew are the most friendly, kind and helpful hosts we have met.
Animals- loved seeing the goats, sheep, chickens, pony, cats…
Wildlife- saw hares, a stoat and a weasel, Peregrine Falcons, Buzzards and lots of flora and fauna in the vicinity - a real treasure trove of habitats.

Mi è piaciuto Our pitch was named the Rudyard which was a level gravel and grass pitch which was a nice big space for our campervan and awning. The site is small which we liked and each pitch had enough space for privacy and surrounded by green fields with sheep and cows for neighbours.
The reception room offers lots of information as well as fresh eggs and snack to purchase and the hosts although we did not see them gave excellent instructions via text message and were quick to respond to questions, very friendly and informative.
The bathroom with shower, toilet and sink basin was immaculate, nice hot shower and spotlessly clean, and with the site only being small we never queued.
There is a lovely walk from the site which is shown on a picture in reception is just shy of 6 miles, it’s an easy walk and takes in 3 lovely pubs each different in character but all offered a nice cold drink which was a welcome on a hot July day.
Would we go back? Most definitely. We stayed as we were off to Alton Towers the next day which is only a 15 minute drive away but we will be back just for a weekend of peace and relaxation.

Mi è piaciuto We loved the charm of Tyre farm, we stayed on the Manifold pitch which was ideal for the weekend, it was very hot and had some trees and a lovely little apple tree orchard flanking the pitch which provided a welcome bit of shade at times without obscuring the beautiful views. It was also next to a chicken coup and close to some lovely little billy goats, being a small working farm it was lovely to sit and relax and listen to all the different animal sounds around us but very peaceful overnight. All the facilities were very close and were a very high standard, the owners were very welcoming and looked after us well. I would 100% recommend this lovely little site and we will definitely visit again.

Mi è piaciuto We stayed on churnet pitch, this was a well sized level pitch with an amazing view. The site was small which I personally enjoyed. On site there were a few seating areas the owners had placed around the site which was a nice touch.
The owners were very friendly, prior to our arrival we were sent detailed instructions which was very helpful.
The reception room, shower and toilet are very modern and immaculate, the shower was hot and powerful. I was impressed with all the thoughtful touches such as, having the wash area indoors for times when its raining, a shared mini fridge, games and dvds can be borrowed during your stay, a hairdryer and large mirror, snacks and eggs that can be purchased and especially liked the pub walk map
