The coast is a big draw here, of course – perhaps start with a walk to Donna Nook Nature Reserve (half an hour on foot) to walk along coastal trails and look out for wildlife. It’s best known for its grey seal colony, but if you don't spot them you can try The Seal Sanctuary Wildlife Centre (20 minutes’ drive). Well-known beach towns nearby include Mablethorpe (20 minutes), Cleethorpes (half an hour) and Skegness (50 minutes); for quieter times, try Sutton on Sea (25 minutes) or Huttoft (half an hour). This area is well known for aviation history, with attractions including East Kirkby Aerodrome Memorial (45 minutes) and the Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight Visitors Centre (50 minutes). For vintage land vehicles, ride the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway (20 minutes) or visit The Bubblecar Museum (55 minutes). For historic buildings, visit Gunby Hall (40 minutes), National Trust - Tattershall Castle (50 minutes) or Doddington Hall & Gardens (an hour).
