Mi è piaciuto What a lovely family run site, the play park was great the kids made friends, and it created a sociable space which could be observed from our tent. We loved the pizzas and had breakfast from the on site food trailer and the local pub was only a 20 minute walk and the food they serve is fabulous. There was hot showers, a choice or portaloos or compost loos. Some nice local walk and villages within easy reach. Firepits were available for hire or wood to purchase.

Non mi è piaciuto No electric pitches which might limit the number of nights we would want to stay.

Mi è piaciuto Very friendly hosts the pizzas were excellent and the site was really tidy and was nice to walk round the utility's were clean and tidy and I had a very good stay

Mi è piaciuto The owners are so friendly and my kids loved learning about Max and Wooliam the sheep and Sissy the cow. The family field had 3 portaloos which were always very clean and well stocked with loo paper, we never had to queue for a toilet once either. There are some composting toilets in the adults only field too. The river and woodland is lovely for dog walks and my kids even had a swim in the river. There's loads of space for bike rides and the kids loved the playground. Fire pits are so cheap to rent for your whole stay and wood very cheap also, saves lots of room in the car rather than having to bring your own.

Non mi è piaciuto You couldn't ask for a better campsite honestly. Only tip I would offer is to bring a collapsible draining board if you plan on doing any washing up.

Mi è piaciuto We stayed two nights (sat/sunday) and on the Sunday night it was super chilled - we were the only people staying in the adults only field, and just a couple of groups in the family area. Lovely pitch next to the river with gorgeous trees, great location near the Peaks and Sheffield. The hosts were friendly and communicative, and while we didn’t use it ourselves the pizza van looked great.

Non mi è piaciuto Mainly other campers sadly.. this place is likely great if you’re a family and happy with noise but it wasn’t for us! Admittedly we did stay on a Saturday night in the school holidays, but the place was mad. Kids and teenagers screamed until after 11pm and left water balloons all over the drinking tap area. There were also groups of adults drinking and shouting in the adults only field.

We parked up as far away as you could get from the toilets on both nights and could still smell them, and people seemed to struggle using them, judging by what was left behind. Despite government warnings, wildfires, signs up from the owners saying absolutely no fires or BBQs, several guests chose to crack on anyway.

Really no negative feedback about the hosts (who were great) or site itself (maybe an upgrade to facilities!) but would be wary about booking over the weekend or school hols

Mi è piaciuto The composting toilets were very clean, apart from when leaving and someone decided not to clean up after them selves, which spoils it for others, as the owner had been round and seen to spend time cleaning them....

Non mi è piaciuto I totally except they're promoting the wild camping experience, but I just felt it was on the expensive side for 1 person and no EHU.....Also the adults only field wasn't adults only

Mi è piaciuto The campsite was nice and spacious and the adult pitch was a good idea.
Great location and a short walk to the pub and fishing lakes. The village was really nice and we had a lovely walk around.

Non mi è piaciuto Only thing was the toilets not a snob but a shed with a hole in and toilet seat for me for £35 a night is not really adequate. Was really smelly and saw lots of people one being physically sick when going in there. Also the shower was right by the main entry and not enough for the amount of people.
Maybe if shower n toilet facilities were improved would come again .

Mi è piaciuto The rustic feel to the campsite. It felt very unengineered.
Great family feel with all the kids playing together at the climbing frame area.
The hosts were great & always around on site making you feel welcome & looked after.

Mi è piaciuto We loved it here. Stayed in our campervan in the adults field and really enjoyed our stay. The hosts Katie and Alistair were great! They really go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay. They have a pizza food truck, which are well worth a go and sell fire pits and logs. Brilliant. Showers and compostable toilets (with proper seats) were kept beautifully clean throughout our stay. A lovely, chilled, peaceful site with a relaxed pitch-where-you-like attitude. See you next time!
