Whim Farm Caravan Site

Mi è piaciuto Great back to basics site with stunning views. Dog friendly with walking routes straight from site. I didn’t meet the owner but she was very helpful and quick to reply to my messages, giving me detailed guidance on where to go for walks and how to get to the pub. This site was so peaceful, just birdsong and the occasional baa from the sheep.
It is a little sun trap so if you would like a little shade I would recommend parking anywhere on the left hand side as you pull in.
I thought this was perfect for me and my 2 dogs. I will be back for sure.

Non mi è piaciuto I wouldn’t say this is a dislike but had to pay extra for the 2nd dog. It was only £4 so not breaking the bank but the first time I’ve been charged extra on a basic camp site.

Mi è piaciuto We have stayed here twice now, the campsite is exactly as advertised. No frills camping- simple, peaceful and exactly what we were looking for. Pitches are spacious, and there was only 3 vans staying on the site the night we stayed so it was perfect, plenty of space for our spaniel to explore. The host was very friendly and attentive, making sure we'd settled in and letting us know the local spots to grab some food. Lovely walk just up the road down the high peak trail which we really enjoyed. Would definitely stay here again.

Mi è piaciuto Great site to get away from it all. Owners daughter greeted us with a smile, very friendly and let us know where to park. Owner came across to say hello and take payment. We spent a few days just chilling. We did drive into Bakewell on our last night with friends, had the best Indian meal for a long time. Thumbs up for Rajas Indian. All in all a good little CL site, no facilities or ehu but we knew that before booking. Does have lovely views of the farming fields.

Non mi è piaciuto Ground a little bumpy and grass quite long. Took us a while to get level. Lost a point for that.

Mi è piaciuto Scenery is amazing in a lovely field. Basic needs on site like tap, bins and loo disposal, etc. The owner's daughter was very helpful in communication and came to see if I was ok once set up. I liked watching the sheep in the field next to me. Felt secure as gated, not far from farm and far enough out the way from the main road. Perfect for a quiet and restful camp!

Non mi è piaciuto Grass maybe a bit long, wasn't an issue in hot weather though, but would be with dew or rain.

Mi è piaciuto What a perfect raw site in an ideal location we had a walk down to the bulls head pub one afternoon and also a walk to Tagg lane dairy farm! Very picturesque watching the sunset across the field surrounded by nature we will be back for sure!

Mi è piaciuto Very peaceful site, all pitches are good sizes, with views of Peak District.
It’s a lovely location, with plenty of walking routes around, two pubs near by (Bulls head and Royal Oak) and ice cream shop. The road that heads to the village does not have a dedicated footpath, however, most of the way, road verge is wide enough to walk on. Also, there are public footpaths through the fields on the back of the camp site, that can be followed to get to both pubs, which in my opinion are much nicer routes.
All pitches are in full sun in the morning, however in the afternoon on side of the field is in shade. This didn’t bother me as my dog enjoyed shade on hot sunny days.
The owner was quick to respond to any queries.

Mi è piaciuto This is the 3rd time of staying. For me it is the ideal weekend getaway. Stunning scenery and perfectly placed for Lathkill Dale and Bakewell. And the Bulls head inn always has too be visited. Paula will always make you feel welcome at Whim farm.
