A aimé This place is just great. Not the first time I've been here, which should say a lot. Plenty of space if you have kids and there's things for the kids to do on site, so you can let them run wild. But, there's still plenty of space not to be bothered by kids. Views are great. Showers are hot, toilets are ok. Goats are awesome. Freezer for ice blocks and fridge for day to day food. Honesty shop for anything you need in a hurry. Particularly good site for botanists, as you'll get some very close up views of the local flora as you nagivate the surrounding roads of the site 😆 Good for amateur geologists too, cos there's seemingly rocks 2-3 inches down, everywhere you want to put your tent pegs ;-) Bring your tough tent pegs lol. Very highly likely I will come back again.

A aimé If you want total isolation, then this could be the place for you. Nobody else there, when I was there, so it was just me, in a field... Nothing wrong with that, just not what I was after at this point in time, so for me, I didn't really like it and moved on to Dartmoor after one night only. You may well like it, if that's what you want.

Réponse du gestionnaire : A 4/10 review! that's pretty bad... but what exactly have we done wrong... we aren't quite sure. Kelvin doesn't seem to understand that by giving us a low rating he might exacerbate exactly the thing that has him so unimpressed: namely that the low rating will put people off coming here thus making us even more quiet! Check out his other reviews to enjoy some more complaints that blame campsite owners for things completely out of their hands - crowing crows! oh dear. Luckily most people come here exactly for the peace and quiet, so in a way Kelvin has done us a favour by highlighting this. lol

A aimé Lovely site, huge. Excellent facilities, toilets, showers and the barn, although I only used it a little for breakfast was a great addition to the site. There's plenty of stock in the Honesty Shop for you make a meal without having to head to Brecon. Great view of Pen y Fan and Corn Du. No kids! you have be careful where you pitch if you road noise is an issue for you, as it is for me. One field is next to the road, but has the best view. I opted to go in the field furthest from the road and glad I did. The road noise is subdued to acceptable/unoticable and the view is still magnificent.

Just to clarify - we do show that there is no wifi or free wifi available on site, as listed under the "amenities" on our booking page, so a little harsh to complain about something when we clearly state it is unavailable. There is phone signal available on the site, but you do have to move around to pick it up, and it does depend on who your provider is. We currently have someone who is working with us for the month of August, who is a remote tutor and is using 4G to teach his classes from his motor home on the site without any issues. Theresa.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Dear Kelvin, I am so sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us unfortunately the crows and traffic are rather out of my hands other than finding a gun for the crows maybe 🤔😂 However our main camping field is away from the crows but unfortunately this year we have been hampered by the weather and are now finally able to cut our hay and use the main camping field for our final weekend of camping. We do try hard to to keep the costs down so that customers can enjoy a little break without the expensive rates of the majority of sites this time of year and I do find a 4/10 review for the location rather harsh and quite upset as it really could have a great detrimental effect on our last weekend of the summer which has already been a very damp and difficult season.😢

A aimé Turn up, pitch up, get on with it. No faffing around, which is great! Small view out towards 1 aspect and a nice environment inside the camp. Toilets, showers and washing up area are fantastic. Fridge Freezer and charging points a nice touch. Logs that you can use with an honesty box and firepits to use by some of the pitches. Levelled pitches. These guys have got it right in so many ways.

N'a pas aimé Bring earplugs in case the army helicopters are on maneuvers at night. Shame its more expensive at the weekends otherwise we would come more often.

A aimé Great Views, Lovely mown pitches on the flat areas of the field. Very close to Shaftesbury which is nice for a stroll around and close to Melbury Beacon and various ridges for long walks. Lovely owner.

N'a pas aimé Only 1 toilet in the Gents. Expensive if you're a solo traveller as it's per pitch not per person.

A aimé Lovely views, not overcrowded, plenty of space, everyone very respectful, friendly owners, good location for the surrounding coast path walks, lovely horses running free in the next field, well away from any roads so no noise, seems like a Dark Sky area as very good views of the stars and Milky Way at night

N'a pas aimé Wished they'd cut the grass before we arrived as it was pretty soaked, they did it on the Monday when we left lol so not always an issue. Windy location.

N'a pas aimé Noisy youths pissing everyone off by coming back after the pubs closed and then being noisy all night. Only 3/4 showers for 700/800 people. Same with flushing toilets there's only 4 or 5 in the gents Very long grass was soaked all of the time so you got wet feet always

A aimé Quiet site in terms of people. Good showers and toilets and washing up facilities. Perfectly flat pitches.

N'a pas aimé No views really, I think the photo's in the listing are a bit overstated. Site lacks any soul/character, I'm trying hard to think how to quantify that. You can hear the road noise from the North Wales Expressway A55 as it's only half a mile away so it's not quiet first thing in the mornings as the cars are at full motorway speed.

A aimé View are great. Lots of space but bet it's rammed at the weekend.

N'a pas aimé Portaloos, although clean they're still hot and sweaty and unlit at night. Slight inlcine on the site but not too bad that you could't sleep. Entrance road needs levelling off, if it's wet and muddy or you're coming in something sporty you're going to ground out.
