This is such a special little site! The location is stunning and it is very peaceful. The camping pitches are quite exposed overlooking the North Sea so bear this in mind - we camped on a particularly windy week and saw a couple of tents collapse!
It does state in the listing that there is a mile long farm track to get to the site - check your tyres and drive slowly - it's more than manageable.
Shower is outside but was lovely and warm and free to use which is a big bonus!
One of the real perks to this site is the beach you can walk to! It is a stunning walk through the woods and under the viaduct before you come out onto the beautiful beach where you can go rockpooling and find a variety of interesting rocks and seaglass. My son and I had the best time!

Where the site is situated, beautiful views. Small site, very peaceful.
Very friendly and accommodating site owners.
Fire pits and wood and a lovely area for sitting.
Perfect for people who don't mind mixed facilities.

Toilet cubicles are male/female separate but within the same building that is accessed by the same door and not private outside the cubicle (personal preference but great for people who don't mind) .
Dish washing area had only cold water.
No chemical disposal for motor homes.

Great view. Very quiet.
I think great for walking, but we did not because we had to take care of our to the car added tent.
Clean toilets, we did Not use the showers.

Our Booking Information during Booking procedure to the Barn: ‚We Travel with Autohimmelbett.de and do need to add a puptent.‘ We received a Pitch in exposed position - and the tent added to the car, that contains the bed, was damaged after 20 Hours by the Wind. This is the only Pitch for Campervans they have. Instead of informing us that this Pitch is not suite as a tent Pitch they accepted the Booking for Four (!!!) days. We paid 200£ for Four Nights. The landlady gave voluntarily 50£ back saying that she knows about the exposed position but with a campervan it should not be a problem. We Made the experience that our Dacia Lodgy was always moving in the wind, it was not fun.
I think it is not fair to rent this Place Being so exposed neither with Not without added tent. The Grass tent pitches you find them all Save behing hedges.

Position of the pitch: you are on stage, no privacy possible. People pass by going to the tent pitches or other accomodation. The Pitch plus tent is circa ten metres long and about two metres wide, but you must leave the Space next to the veheicle free for the other guests arriving/leaving with their car. So the Pitch is more or less a loading area. Next to the outdoor table you find the cars Ranking.

Street condition: difficultly to manage with a Full loaded car.

We found elder dog fouling at the pitch. The landlady gave the advice to put the poop in the hedge. Regarding the children around we collected it in vegan poop bags.

Lovely staff, great showers and toilet block. The kettle in the barn was a plus. Very handy that we could drive close to the pitch to load/unload. Short walk to a beach and a fabulous view point.

Was a bit too windy for an open fire

Although this campsite was close to home it felt like we were miles away , lovely views easy walk to a deserted beach , it was beautiful. Site was spotless with good toilets , showers and washing up facillities.

It was a very long bumpy ride when turning onto the farm track.

Really loved this place. So relaxing and the cabin has everything you need. Comfortable beds good shower and a well equipped kitchen.

The quiet, scenic, clean and very comfortable Glamping Pod. The friendly nature of the owner and other guests.

The very uneven and potholed approach farm road.

A very natural and beautiful setting. We think we saw a pod of some kind of small whales feeding off fish when we visited the beach! Which was brilliant. We found small pieces of sea glass on the pebbly beach. The caravan was very clean. All the equipment we needed was provided. It was lovely for a couple of nights to visit Durham and Beamish.

We didn’t dislike anything but just a few pointers… remember to bring bedding and towels! But you can hire these easily. It’s a long single track line to reach the farm but we were lucky we didn’t meet anyone. There is no phone reception.
