It's all on the Po Delta, at Barricata's setting in the Rovigo region of Venice province, between the two golden sandy beaches of Spiaggia delle Conchiglie and Spiaggia Barricata. The Po Delta Regional Park is easily accessible; for city days, Venice, Padua and Treviso are within a short drive.
And there's a waterpark right on site... A large one, with a big pool, paddling pools, a whirlpool bath, a waterslide and sun loungers alongside. Watery activities like aquagym are organised during school holidays.
Kids in high season have plenty of land-based options too at the site activities and entertainment: sports tournaments at the campsite, in the waterpark or on the beach; a kids' club; dance classes and shows. Adults can play football, tennis, beach or try their hand at archery or use the gym.
Pack on some tum to work off in the pool at the Barricata restaurant, serving pizzas and meat and fish dishes, or at the prosciutteria, where you can pick up sandwiches and quick bites. There's also a bar near the pool.

Barricata Holiday Village is in prime position to get to the best of the Po Delta Regional Park, a biosphere nature reserve that's also the biggest regional park in the Emilia Romagna. It's a place to which birdwatchers flock: expect to spot ospreys, black-throated loons, horned grebes and turnstones.
Another top pick is a pedal around the splendid scenery of Sacca degli Scardovari, the mussel-producing hamlet where you'll need to dismount many a time to take pics of the hundreds of handsome huts on stilts, belonging to the local mussel farmers.
Venice, Treviso, Padua and Rovigo are all within a short drive.
