A aimé I loved how private the pitch was and how spaced out the pitches were so I felt like I was in my own space. Henry was a delight to deal with via text and the overall experience was great for a first time since I was a Scout. I didn't try the activities available but I will definitely give them a go next time.

Signal was good for my phone and the parking was good too.

N'a pas aimé The facilities were a bit unexpected but that was mostly on me as they were exactly as described in the listing. Probably next time will be more amenable to them.

A aimé Wild camping campsite, a proper feel of being in nature without seeing any other campers from your pitch. No vehicles near to you either. lots of birds and other wildlife. Proper relaxing camp experience
When you buy logs for the campfire you get a massive heavy bag of oak, maybe 15 to 20 kg. You will need an axe to split them unless you also buy kindling or want the fire to last many hours

A aimé The forest floor pitches were beautiful nestled in the trees with the ground well maintained for pitching with no big rocks or pokey twigs that needed to be cleared. Most also had fire pits which was a highlight for us as it was a little chilly during our stay, we toasted a lot of marshmallows! The pitches were spaced far enough apart that you have privacy though there were also options if you wanted to go with friends and pitch closer together. The local area has a lot of footpaths to roam and the hunters inn pub made for a nice pit stop not too far from the site at the end of our walks.

N'a pas aimé The site is quite near the main road so there was a bit of traffic noise. We had noted this before hand so it was to be expected and it didn't bother us or keep us awake at all at night.

A aimé Gorgeous site rammed full of wildlife we caught Deer on our trail cameras most nights aswell as a Badger. Very well placed pitches of various sizes dotted about and the owners don't allow most of the pitches out at the same time so you always have a large choice and it makes for a quiet private camp. Henry was about every day checking site, not the sort of owner that bothered you left you to it but was contactable if required.

A aimé first time camping as an adult :) my partner enjoyed making fires and cooking outdoors. lots of wildlife. we chose pitch 17.

A aimé Super friendly owner and campsite manager (Henry). They limit the number is bookings so the site doesn’t get overwhelmed. You are assured privacy and your own little pitch where you can relax without being disturbed by the people next to you. Good selection of areas from grassy meadow pitches, birch woodlands, a wooded area and lots of space between them all. 4 composting toilets that are well maintained and fresh running water. There’s also showers (cold water only). Henry offers some great extras like foraging, and air rifle stuff. I’d highly recommend this site but it’s very much semi wild camping. Basically wild camping but with toilet and fresh water facilities. All I ever need but not for everyone.
Not all - in fact most pitches are not flat but you can usually find enough space for 1 - 4 people to be comfortable enough.

N'a pas aimé Road noise can be a little loud at times but does die down on the evening and early morning. The occasional ’racer’ on a Friday/Sat night but never really that bad.
Drive way is a little rough but continues to be worked on. My lwb sprinter/camper went down and up it with no problems so don’t let this put you off, just go steady!

A aimé This by far my favourite wild ish campsite near Bristol.
Easy to find, large car park.
Pitch wherever you can find a space.

N'a pas aimé Some sloping pitches. Although, overall a very quiet campsite in general.

A aimé Very nice woodland with plenty of interesting features. Camping is on the wild side, a welcome change from the usual boring flat rectangle field of most campsites.

Superb fire pit and benches, stumps for wood chopping - everything you need.

The pitches are secluded from each other, you are unlikely to see another tent from your own pitch, I saw a Muntjack or similar deer at the site!
