A aimé The setting, the private pitches, the walk to the Hunters Rest, friendly campsite manager Henry, and in my opinion, the best compost toilets I've ever been on (no smell at all!) :)

N'a pas aimé The sound of the A37 was quite present on pitch 4, which is a lovely forest pitch

A aimé Henry is running Dagger wood campsite, I love it there, peaceful most of the time.
I wish I had come across this site a few years ago, I would have been staying there more often. As I'm classed as homeless, I don’t know what I'm going to do after he closes the site sometime in September.

N'a pas aimé There's only one thing I don't like about the site, that is it's closing sometime in September until around the beginning of next year, February/March time would be my guess.

A aimé Beautiful and amazing campsite. Have been coming here the last few years and we love it.

Lots of wildlife and is a great star gazing spot.

Facilities are kept clean and the campsite owner is lovely and helpful. The campsite is in a great location and its easy 15 minute drive to get to a cute little town thats fun to explore and has a tesco and a lidl.

Theres a really lovely pub thats in walking distance and some other beautiful trails around to explore. There’s a lovely walk to a cute waterfall on ‘all trails’. It’s a lovely way to spend a day.

N'a pas aimé I would not recommended staying at pitch 6. Although it seems like a lovely quiet pitch in a secluded spot with path at the back to easily get onto the public footpath, the campsites neighbour is a nutcase and hangs out about 5 metres away at all times chopping wood. The neighbour is super rude and hostile and has a habit of screaming and smashing things very late a night until early in the morning. He ran up to us while we were walking back from a hike, we had grabbed some small dead sticks to get a fire started. The neighbour then berated us and told us we were stupid for thinking we could keep a fire going with that and started to try sell us his own firewood, when we politely declined, he got very rude. The neighbour also leaves his little black dog to roam and there was multiple times where the dog raided our camp for food and urinated on our belongings.

Obviously there is nothing anyone can do about this and this is not a knock at the campsite at all, this is just a warning not to stay at towards that side of the campsite.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Thank you for your review! whilst we are happy to read you think the campsite is amazing, we are really disappointed to also discover you had such negative interactions with someone who lives in the proximity of the campsite. We will investigate this matter thoroughly, and hopefully at least be able to provide you with an apology from the person in question.

A aimé Wild camping, lovely to have our own little woodland pitch and fire pit. Teenage boys particularly enjoyed air rifle shooting, foraging was also interesting. I was the only one to brave the cold showers though.

A aimé Remote pitches, lovely woodland, nice walk to local pub, Henry the owner super helpful.

It was a scorching hot weekend and we found a lovely pitch in the woods.

A aimé Really nice and peaceful place. Allowed campfires and disposable BBQs. Around 20-30 minute drive to both bath and Bristol which is perfect.

N'a pas aimé The showers are quite open to everyone so put me off in having one or had to go at very specific times when no one is around
