Coastal hikers can set off along the West Somerset Coast Path and the River Parrett Trail at this last, for a journey along the 58-mile trail east to Minehead, or south for 50 miles through Somerset to the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Day trip options include spectacular Cheddar Gorge (20 minutes), the tor and independent shops of Glastonbury (30 minutes), the tiny cathedral city of Wells (35 minutes and the city of Bristol (45 minutes). Taunton is half an hour away.
