A aimé : Good location. beautiful countryside with nice walks and pubs, plus the river nearby. the site is spacious and you have plenty of space per pitch.

N'a pas aimé: this site is badly let down by the toilet situation. a handful of badly maintained portaloos don't cut it for the amount of people there. I've camped a lot and don't mind roughing it, but these were like festival toilets from the day we arrived and just got worse.

Our toilets were cleaned 2-3 times a day over this weekend, and from reviews below people staying during the same period also report they were cleaned well. Unfortunately we can report from when these cleans were conducted that customers this weekend were not very respectful of the facilities in-between our cleanings which is why we doubled our cleaning efforts. We also had more customers littering on site which was disappointing. We were also let down by one of our suppliers this weekend, which resulted in the toilets being fuller than usual, which I imagine is what led to your experience. It meant we had to find a new company to carry out an empty on Sunday morning which is I imagine after you may have left. We have formally complained to the supplier and as per the rest of our reviews below this is not the usual standard for our toilets, this weekend was an unfortunate blip thanks to our supplier not fulfilling their contract as agreed. We can only apologies that this affected your enjoyment of the site which from the sounds of it you otherwise enjoyed.

N'a pas aimé: To pricy for what you get. Have been to cheaper campsites with better facilities. No drinking water, porta-loos, cold showers only.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Our facilities are exactly as advertised, as are our prices. Pitches are £20 per night and this covers up to 4 people, so you do get better value the more of you there are. Our facilities are clear on pitch up and our website. We highly recommend that customers read what they have booked in advance. We are very up front about the fact we are a back to basics site with portaloos and cold water showers, and all campers should be aware of this before booking. (It is highlighted in bold on our website). We also do have 4 water taps with drinking water, which I'm not sure how you missed, they are very clearly marked on the map on the notice board. And are located nearby to the facilities.

A aimé : We came back a second time 2 weeks later, for the weekend. as the kids loved it, its not too far from where we live. Good price also.we will probably be back soon.

A aimé : Great pitch sizes, gorgeous views, lovely area with walks. A real simple site to switch off and relax. Great to have a fire pit.

N'a pas aimé: The toilets were quite full to the end of the weekend. They were kept clean and always had soap/toilet roll.

Very unfortunately we were let down by one of our suppliers this weekend who did not empty our toilets as scheduled, we have made a formal complaint and will be pursuing this to find out why they did not provide us with our usual service. We did organise another company to empty the toilets as an urgent matter which happened on Sunday morning. But we appreciate this may have been after you left. This is not our usual standard, and we are deeply frustrated by the matter. Though we are glad that the matter was dealt with very swiftly. But we are very satisfied you found the facilities to be well cleaned and well stocked, as we did clean the toilets 2-3 times a day over this busy weekend.

A aimé : Simple, level and well maintained ground with great views.

N'a pas aimé: Be aware - the ground is very hard! Some groups were playing music and a bit too loud - slightly ruined the peace but wasn’t a problem past 10pm.

A aimé : Great views, family friendly, big pitches, clean toilets, plenty of bins for rubbish.

N'a pas aimé: Can be windy as not much shelter, having said that we have a roof top tent.
