A aimé The woodland and lake surroundings. Was well situated for getting around for sight seeing, with Bath, and Longleat only a short drive away.

N'a pas aimé Site was very basic with only one male and one female shower, which were not heated and of poor quality. The lighting in the toilet block was very poor. It operated on a sensor which went off whilst in the cubicle and you were out of reach of the sensor so didn't come back on. The site was also not very well lit. Area around the hard standing pitch was waterlogged and very boggy, and the hard standing area was also prone to puddles. Electric hook up was not adequate and kept tripping out.

Réponse du gestionnaire : I assume that this is the same couple who provided the review prior. We have had very heavy rain this last two weeks and yes the site has become wet. I would suggest a summer camping trip for complete dryness! Our electric clearly states 6amps per pitch. We cannot help it if the site is full and everyone turns on their 12 amp kettle at the same time. Sadly no one reads the 6 amp limit or adheres to it. Sorry that this happened but occasionally this happens if people are not prepared to use the gas in their vans. I have an electrician looking at the lights today in the loos and hopefully extending the time. We have had no other guests complain about the site lighting. At present we are a site OVER HALF the price of our local competitors. yes we know we have some issues but are still number one in Wiltshire on Pitch Up. You had two of you stay for £8.25 each. We have to heat, insure , electrify and water you for this price and lose money to Pitch UP as commission. Cuckoos Rest remains cracking value today..HOWEVER.. This winter we are spending over £200000 on the site, upgrading and putting in new facilities for kids and a cafe. Our pitches will be £25-32 a night next year. Facilities cost I'm afraid. Please be advised we do know our shortcomings and we are striving to improve. Most of our reviews are excellent as you will see, and I know that we can't please everyone all the time. We do appreciate your feedback. Thank you.
