A aimé Decent facilities, nice rural location.

N'a pas aimé This is probably a nice campsite if you're in a caravan or motor home and are located on the main field. As a tent camper you are stuck on front lawn between two access tracks. The pitches are a reasonable size but as there is no gap between them you still feel close to your neighbours (and the access tracks). I seemed to suffer an extended period of car door slamming, shouting and engines left idling for ages after 9pm. I believe some of these were campsite employees which is even more unacceptable. Check-in was a bit weird. All the information requested should have been visible on the pitchup booking, not sure why I had to type it all in again.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Hi Kevin, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and overall I’m really sorry we didn’t get it quite right for you this time round, I’ve had a quick look and it seems you may have accidentally completed the check in for new unbooked arrivals, we try to help make it easy for pre-booked Pitchup customers to follow the much quicker check-in via the larger QR code poster, positioned first on arrival that mentions pre-booked Pitchup bookings in the title - but accept at night after a long journey this can sometimes happen- so we apologise. As for the spacing and noise- very sad to hear this, if I recall the evening correctly, although there were lots of spare pitches available further down the field I think possibly you chose to pitch closer to the active working farm side at the top of the field? Again - will try to make it clear on our pictures that we are on a farm, but that is what also helps make this a rural, authentic farm campsite with the surrounding field views too. Anyway. We’d really value the chance to make it right for you if you’d be kind enough to give us another shot, so if you’re headed this way let us know the dates in advance and not only will we find you the quietest pitch available but be sure to look after you on it. A aimé Peaceful, large pitch with bench, well-organised, everything was new, clean and worked well. Decent pub nearby.

A aimé Friendly, informative welcome and orientation from the owner. Level, peaceful, secluded pitches nestling in the orchard. High quality facilities. Excellent farm shop (and BAR!) within a quick walk. Malevich prints in the toilet shed ;-)

A aimé The views, the farm sounds and smells, but most of all the help, advice and conversations with the site manager, Shane, who went above and beyond his role to help me, including all manner of advice on sites, equipment and van-camping.

N'a pas aimé I never managed to get any warm water from the shower, but Shane said that it was possible via a temporary adjustment to the farm's plumbing. I wasn't that bothered enough to try that.

A aimé Everything - a lovely site, the owners have clearly put a lot of effort into thinking about and providing for campers needs: the well-equipped kitchen, the excellent showers, even the clear signposting to the beach, was all perfect.

N'a pas aimé The group of girl campers who drove and parked right by the kitchen for breakfast, left their engine running for over an hour while they did their downward dogs (or whatever 🙄) by the van. I'm glad I wasn't in a nearby tent.

A aimé Excellent facilities, peaceful location, but the friendly, helpful host (Lee, I think) really made the difference: sourcing BBQ ingredients delivered from the local shop, loaning of USB power packs, offers to do laundry were all super-helpful and much appreciated.
