A aimé Everything. The views, the space, the facilities.
We love to keep our camping simple. We like a nice view and peace and quiet. Cole farm was perfect for us. On arrival we were given the choice of where to pitch. We chose a pitch with a sea view. The kids thought it was amazing that we could see France. The toilets were clean and comfy. When I read that it was wild camping, I thought they would be more basic but was happily surprised.
We were literally alone in a field and it was just what we needed. The kids had space to play football and rugby. The dogs enjoyed being walked around the near by lanes. It was perfect.
If you need essentials there is a Lidl or aldi nearby. It’s a short drive to Canterbury and we had a lovely day out there.
Thank you Cole Farm, we will be back.

A aimé The scenery is stunning and it is incredibly peaceful on the farm. The campsite is a small piece of land, with two pods and the space for some tents. We were incredibly lucky and found ourselves to be the only campers, with two couples in the pods. We had lots of space for the children to play. If there had been the maximum amount of tents, I feel it would have been a bit snug.
The facilities were great. The toilet and shower room were clean and well kept. The washing up area had hot water, which was a treat. We eventually found the drinking water sign under some scourers, at the sink.
My husband very much enjoyed the lakes for fishing. Easy to find and only a short walk away.
N'a pas aimé We never met the owners. Ever. All the comments about how nice they were, but we didn’t get to experience that. (We we’re off site for about 3 hours, our entire time there.)We spoke to someone on the phone when we initially got there but that was it.
We rang an hour in advance of our arrival, as the blurb instructs you to do and left an answer phone message but no one to greet us when we arrived.
It just felt strange. We have camped many times and always met the owners. We were unable to by logs or ask any questions we had. At night it felt a bit daunting (for me anyway) to be camping in the middle of no where, with no idea who would help us, should we need it.
It’s a shame. It’s a lovely little campsite and we had a brilliant time. This was our only negative.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Hi James, I’m so sorry that you felt that you were alone at the farm. Due to medical reasons I have had to be away from the farm for the last month or so and have been trying to run it remotely with my fathers help. I thought I had mentioned to you on the phone to call if there is anything at all that you need but maybe I forgot. Again huge apologies but I’m glad you enjoyed parts of your stay.

We can’t fault our stay at Oak Tree Lane, it was perfect. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left Phil and Sera made us all feel welcome. The site is beautiful, the views are endless from any view point.
We were attracted to Oak Tree Lane because it only has two pitches and we were not disappointed. The pitches were very large and it almost felt like we were the only ones there, even though other were families around.
The facilities for a camping trip are more than you could ask for. We had our own private bathroom, with shower and toilet. It was large and meant all five of us could use it at the same time. Definitely a treat, considering we usually brush our teeth in a washing up bowl. There was a fresh water tap in the middle of the field, which meant it wasn’t a long walk to top up our water supply.
Oak Tree Lane sell their own produce and it was amazing. We tried the bacon, eggs and sausages. Which were all a hit and really did highlight how inferior the supermarket alternatives are.
Sera and Phil really were the perfect hosts, friendly and generous with their time. They were always happy to talk, with us and our children when we saw them but at the same time we had enough space to relax on our own.
Of all our camping adventures, this is our favourite by far. It was peaceful and stress free. The children had space to play and we felt safe in letting them visit the toilets by themselves.
Lastly, we can’t forget the best neighbours we have ever had camping. The sheep. We all fell in love with them.
We will be back and want to try one of the wood lodges next time.
Thank you for a wonderful stay Phil and Sera x

A aimé Absolutely stunning views, in all directions. The toilets are the best we’ve had camping, a real treat. Amazing value for money. Great proximity to Cambridge for those looking for something to do. The owners were very friendly and the chocolate eggs on Easter Sunday were a lovely touch.
N'a pas aimé The pitches are all in one corner of the field, which meant when one group of campers decided to play loud music, everyone got to hear it.
