Families, couples, small groups, solo travellers, dog owners… there’s a warm Welsh welcome for all guests at this small site on the Llŷn Peninsula. In a rural location about 15 minutes’ drive from Pwllheli, Tyn on the Llyn Campsite is a scenic spot with gorgeous views of the surrounding landscapes, particularly at sunset. Being well away from any urban light pollution, there’s often also some spectacular stargazing to be done here on clear nights. Just the thing for some time spent appreciating the power of nature… To help preserve this fantastic location, facilities here are as eco-friendly as possible, with compost toilets, renewable energy and recycling facilities all in place. There’s also a wifi service, a covered communal seating area and a washing-up area with possibly one of the best views you’ve ever had while tackling the suds. Pwllheli is a handy source of shops and places to eat, and it’s also home to a three-mile stretch of beach that’s great for a family day out. There are more beaches nearby too: long sandy stretches, hidden coves and west-facing beaches with big waves for the surfers. As well as all that, there are various outdoor activities including watersports and mountain biking close by, and a whole lot of excellent historic attractions. The closest of these, at a few minutes’ drive, is Tre'r Ceiri Hillfort, known as one of the UK’s best-preserved Iron Age hillforts.

A aimé Tyn on the Llyn is a super fantastic site. Super warm welcome. Clean, simple and great location. Showers hot, toilets clean and well managed, dining and kitchen area with charging points, fridge and kettle is a perfect area to use.

A aimé Stunning campsite. The facilities are kept immaculately clean and checked regularly throughout the day. I wouldn’t let the compost toilet put anyone off - it is very clean and no odours at all.

The communal area is lovely, and great that there’s a little fridge. The outdoor shower is stunning and indulging in a hot shower! The site is very quiet and perfect for those wanting a quiet place to relax. The pitches are large so everyone can spread out and enjoy their own space.

A aimé Beautiful, peaceful site with incredible views. Jamie was lovely and very helpful. The facilities were great, everything you need and all kept super clean. There’s not loads of pitches which made it feel really special. Would definitely stay again!

A aimé We had our family holiday at Tyn of the Lyn, staying for just over a week with 2 adults and a 10 and 7 year old.

We had a really brilliant time. As soon as you pull up at the campsite you feel your stress melting away! It's in such a beautiful and stunning location.

We had a warm welcome from Jamie and Sylvie and they advised us on the best pitch for us. There's a small number of pitches available so you don't feel close to anyone else.

The facilities are everything you'd need, particularly the camp kitchen area. It was great to hang out there and chat to other campers, who were all super friendly. We could sit and watch the kids play on the field and even cooked in there when the weather was against us. WiFi was the icing on the cake.

There's plenty to do in the area, the local village has a community cafe serving good food, we went to Caernarfon Castle, the Aviation museum and Bounce Below and a couple of beautiful beaches.

We had a really special holiday here.

A aimé A wonderful little campsite run by a truly friendly and welcoming couple with such spacious areas, peace and quiet, practical and well-thought-out facilities, and little details that make a big difference. Ideally located for exploring the peninsula, as well as eastward into the countryside and hills. It’s a place I’ll definitely remember, and I’ll gladly recommend it to my friends.

A aimé Convenient location, amazing local attractions, plenty of room between pitches. Well organised, super clean, the owners were helpful, knowledgeable, and approachable; the amenities facilitated brief exchanges between people on our visit; there was a community feel on site nothing like a hotel.
