Roundoak Farm

A aimé Wow, just wow - what a wonderful find.
We booked on a whim, as a friend was jumping from a plane at Headcorn Airport & we wanted to be close by there.
We knew it was a working farm, but we wasn’t sure what to expect. We were greeted by Ruth, and was offered a choice of pitch, Ruth explained where everything was and said to knock at the house if we needed anything.
We settled in, and then went for a walk around the farm, it was wonderful to meet all of the rare breeds on the farm, Pigs, Sheep, Cows, Highland Cattle and lots of sweet chickens and other birds running around the farm.
The woods, attached to the farm are lit up with fairy lights, which make it very pretty at twilight.
There is a lovely mini kitchen to use, with washing up facilities, a microwave, coffee machine, washing machines and tumble dryers. The two bathrooms available, have lovely large showers, with very hot water and are beautifully clean too. I didn’t even spot any spiders 😀
The following day, on our walk, we met little Daniela, the highland cattle baby and also Steve, the Sussex mule sheep. They were super friendly and loved a head scratch and a chat. Plus the family dogs, Scruff, Molly & Ben - such friendly dogs.
We also had a chat with Norman, who was busy cutting the lawns, he told us a little bit about the farm and the work that goes on.
We spent the weekend enjoying the farm and the surroundings, all the staff are super friendly and say hello and are happy to chat about the animals too. The animals are so well looked after. I was amazed to watch them getting their winter pens ready, as they are not left out in the fields in winter.
Ruth & Norman were just lovely, and helped us, with a little personal issue we had with our van. Both of them are available on the farm at all times and are happy to help.
If I could give this place marks out of 100, it would get 100. We really enjoyed our stay and we will return.

A aimé What a wonderful experience!
After crossing the Channel, we arrived in just about an hour. Norman and his wife gave us the warmest welcome and immediately took us on a fascinating little tour of their working farm.
We were then treated to some delicious local products from the farm, which made a fantastic dinner.
Our pitch was beautifully kept, with lush grass, a spotless bathroom, and stunning views — the perfect combination.
We enjoyed it so much that we decided on the spot to extend our stay, even though we had only planned to stay for one night.

A aimé Very nice stay, lovely wooded area with benches to eat on and enjoy the surroundings, would definitely stay again.

A aimé All I can say is I wish we booked for longer, it’s beautiful, peaceful and very welcoming, Gary who welcomed us in was very welcoming and passionate about the farm and the work he does!
we spoke to Norman the owner (I might of forgotten that we had to pay cash) who was of course very lovely! And very helpful even if I had to phone him at 8am in the morning and disturb him in Scotland (sorry!!) I Would honestly recommend this site to anyone, It was home away from home for us as we came from the West Country!
Don’t forget that Kent has beautiful country side too,

A aimé A quiet site with open views. Pleasant, helpful staff especially Rose and Garry! Owners away on holiday so dudn't meet them. Perfect dog walk around the wood. Loved meeting the resident hedgehog.
Well cut and gathered grassed site area. Challenging access lane!
Clean facilities. Admired the classic cars! No complaints at all!

A aimé Peaceful stay with a warm welcome

We stayed at Roundoak Farm for one night and were really impressed. Gary greeted us with a friendly tour of the site, and we were kindly given early access due to a golf game we had planned—great service and much appreciated.

The site itself is peaceful and beautifully set in the Kent countryside, with lovely views and a relaxed, adults-only atmosphere. Facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the woodland walk was a nice touch for stretching the legs and enjoying the surroundings.

Security is well thought out, with gated access that gave us peace of mind—especially important when travelling with valuable kit. One thing to note for fellow motorhomers: the lane leading to the site was tight in places with our 7.3m x 2.35m x 3.0m vehicle. It’s a short stretch from the main road, so manageable, but worth taking it slow if you’re in a larger unit.

Overall, a great stopover and we’d happily return for a longer stay.

A aimé We liked the quietness, the shower and facilities on offer (washing machine, fridge and microwave. The place was very clean.

You state I am a friendly owner, so approaching me would not have been an issue.
8 out of 10 is not good enough for me!
I feel offended if our rating was a result of you being confused!
As I have mentioned before this affects our overall rating.
Maybe I need to think carefully who I share this gem of a site with.

A aimé Nice place, peaceful atmosphere despite the sounds from the farm — but I grew up on a farm, so for me it felt like going back to childhood. Lots of open space, a lovely little forest nearby, clean bathrooms, fresh eggs, and a coffee machine available.
