Cae Malwen Farm

Location is great, site is basic but that was exactly what we wanted....has two flushing toilets (very clean), 2 porta loo's and a cold water tap. There is a sink for washing up. You can borrow fire pits and BBQs from the site. There are horses/ponies on the site which the children loved! Site is on a slight hill but didn't affect us, very quiet - can't hear traffic etc.

There was plenty of space in both fields to pitch up a tent and park your car. It's important to note the fields slope so pitching correctly on a flat surface will really benefit your stay!

The young chap looking after both fields was available to assist at any time, very helpful and provided some good local knowledge. He provided us with a grill to use as a wood burner whilst all the other fire pits were in use. And there was plenty of dry branches around the site to burn.

In terms of facilities, as noted in the description, there are no showers but the toilets had plenty of toilet roll to use and were kept very clean throughout. The wash basin also had washing up liquid to use at hand and a separate water tap to fill bottles.

The Rose and Thistle pub is very close by (in walking distance) but make sure to reserve a table if you want to eat. Other pubs can be found close by in driving distance.

It is a very quiet and peaceful camp site.

For the cost and what was noted in the description of the camp site, for us, there is nothing really to dislike.

We stayed for the bank holiday weekend and had a lovely time. The photos don't do it justice, the site is a lot more cosy than it looks and had a lovely atmosphere. The toilets were pretty, well stocked and clean and the recycling, fire pits and fairy lights were nice touches. A good choice of pitches. Though there were no showers which was fine it would be nice to have facilities for face washing. Overall lovely site in a stunning village.

It’s an excellent peaceful campsite. I came with my 3 little children and they all loved it. They enjoyed the horses on site. The toilets were exceptionally clean during the entire stay.
We enjoyed walking around the lovely countryside. It’s a short walk to the Roman villa which is really lovely as well. Fordingbridge is a quick drive away.

A bit tricky to find a flat spot, it’s all on a hill.

It was so easy to get to, well signposted! The hosts seemed very friendly and would accommodate any issues :) the area was lovely, clearly very well kept and so peaceful and quiet. There were 4 super clean toilets and were stocked very highly of the essentials which was great! Had a washing up area and lots of fresh drinking water. Great walking route just next to the field also! Definitely recommend, couldn’t fault it one bit!

No road/traffic noise. Footpath to the pub. Dog friendly.

After a couple of days the chemical toilets and wash up area really needed a clean. Limited suitable level areas to pitch.
