Salhouse Broad's Camping Corner

A aimé Excellent location to launch paddle boards and kayaks onto the broads. The launch fee is included in the price for the night which is worth knowing (if not it is expensive for a basic site)
The addition of a shower is great, lovely and hot! (it would be beneficial to provide a squeegee to enable people to clean after themselves)
Peaceful site, pitches are a good size. Just make sure you pitch in front of the number post, it can be confusing.
Access to the playground and star gazing area with a little coffee stand is super, although you just need to stand outside your tent and look up to see amazing stars!
A very welcome addition would be wheelbarrows to help transport gear to and from the pitch!
When the weather allows beautiful location to chill around the fire and toast marshmallows!
Would recommend the site for getting onto the water.

N'a pas aimé The campsite toilets and showers are supposed to be for campers only. Many times over our 5 days we saw people coming from the playground entrance to use both the toilets and showers. The gate has a code facility but its not used. this should be put back in use.
The toilets (portiloos) were very ripe smelling by the time we left, to the point using a bush or waiting until we had gone out somewhere was more preferable!!
This was probably due to the excessive use of non campers and lack of cleaning.
Car park is used by evening paddleboarders who walk through the site to launch onto the broads.

N'a pas aimé 4 portable toilets and 2 locked unusable showers booked online for 3 nights stayed only 1 night and went home disgusted .and we are never going and dare not tell anyone that we had been

Réponse du gestionnaire : We do advertise that our toilets are portable toilets, so this should not be a surprise. If you want a bigger and busier campsite then we are not it. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your stay, but we do wish you had got in touch with the office so we could have the opportunity to make things right.

A aimé I loved it was right by the broads and river so easy to get your Paddleboard down and out for a nice long paddle

N'a pas aimé There was some group of 6 people there and they were talking pretty loud which kinda ruined the peace and quiet

A aimé Loved the site it was so beautiful with the broads to sit by and feed the ducks we went canoeing walked to the Fur and Feather pub. The playground was great for the kids too.

N'a pas aimé There were only two of the portable toilets working so they really stank after two days.

Réponse du gestionnaire : We're glad you loved the site, apologies for the loos, we wanted to replace the portaloo's with nice composting ones, but the planners wouldn't allow it. We have since added more portaloos, so they are not so intensively used. Please try us again!

A aimé Quiet, clean, flat pitches, good proximity to Salhouse broad. The portaloos very clean for portaloos! Very impressed with those.

N'a pas aimé Price for lack of amenities. That’s on me for not reading about the lack of showering facilities but I don’t think the prices really reflect the lack of showers or washing up area.

A aimé Quiet, peaceful and spacious. Easy access to the broads. Surrounded by nature.

A aimé Wonderful place to escape the hustle and recconet with family.
We loved the location and the local boat ride that we booked. A beuatiful part of the country. Toilets were clean too. Would stay again.

N'a pas aimé Just a bit of wondering where to go when we got there. Maybe a welcome sign on the gate to give instruction would be helpful as we found ourselves asking a fee people where to go etc. But overall wonderful.

A aimé Great location next to the broad. Peaceful spot surrounded by birdsong. Nice walk round the edge of the broad to Salhouse for the pub. We hired a canoe from Ranger Trevor for a pootle around in the sun, and the chap running the snack hut gave us matches when we'd forgotten to bring any.

A aimé Pitch was a good size, the owner was very helpful and informative a out the campsite. Toilets were clean. Would stay again.
