Beautiful location almost off grid surrounded by countryside we pitched by the river for two nights it rained
it rained but did not put us off the lady owner was wonderful very welcoming and helpful and does her best to keep things in order, good working toilet block very basic but clean.

Nothing really to dislike we had a noisy group close to us which we didn't expect but just campers enjoying themselves it can be mixed campers here.

The backdrop/scenery is very nice. The nature and serenity of the area is pleasant.

Midges completely ravage the area, especially near the willow tree. You are bound to bitten plenty. There is sheep droppings absolutely everywhere too. On a strong rainy day like when I was there, the combination of the two is extremely unpleasant. Lack of communication from the owners, means you have to figure out the entry code and other things yourself or from the other guests.

Location was great, right by the river. Secure site with padlocked gate. Falling asleep listening to the river was fantastic. Best nights sleep in a tent I've had for a while. Owner seemed lovely on check in.

Booked for two nights but decided to leave after one due to waterlogged pitch. After a day out hiking and soaked through, coming back and not having dry ground around the tent was not great ( it was incredibly boggy). Access to toilet block a challenge to get to at night.

Loved the site. Beautiful, affordable, basic (I mean that positively), with a wild feel (I don't enjoy a soulless manicured field with set pitches and lots of facilities). Rules for keeping noise down. Lovely owner.

The only downside was some of the other visitors who, despite it being clearly, explicitly a quiet site, chose to book here and make noise. It only takes one or two groups to spoil it for everyone else. The site owner will of course try to help but it's still problematic to be disturbed despite the clear rules.
