Location.

No security on site. No one was there for check us in. People could have arrived without paying. The toilets were not very clean and they were dated. Not worth the premium price for staying.

Pleasant surroundings

Dirty shower block, there was a sign to say the shower block was cleaned between 12 and 2 daily . It absolutely didn’t get cleaned during our 2 night stay.
The laundry / washing up areas also dirty and soaking wet each time I used it.
The site was noisy in general , both late night and early morning.
There is a gate from the site through to the lake, with no signage to indicate deep water.
A potential hazard to young children and dogs also.
This is the 4th site we have used this year and by far the worse, absolutely won’t be returning

Great pitch with hook up. Lots of treees. Countryside setting. Squirrels and ducks aroud site. Ooh and a beautiful peacock. Hardstanding with grassed area to side. Toilets and showers, 1 disabled one. Washing up area with laundry. Chem disposal/water points. Facilities cleaned daily. Lovely staff. Acces to small part of lake to walk. No access to castle howard from site. There is a 2-4-1 voucher for entry though. Easy to find. Need car to go anywhere. Nothing nearby pretty secluded. Castle howard 1 mile away, apparently a farm shop/cafe there. No are no proper footpath to walk along road to Castle.
Malton nearest town with shops, supermarket about 4miles away. Plenty of cafes, morrisons. Indian spice and Tsangs Chinese awesome food!!!
We enjoyed the piece and quiet. Visited Scarbrough, pickering to ride steam trains, Thornton le dale to see Mathewsons car Auction garage from Tvs "Bangers n cash. York, Harrogate.
Loved staying here. Definitely return again.

Still loved it but just a heads up.
Busy on weekend. Bit noisy up where tents area is.
showers/toilets Cubicles a bit snug. They need to be bigger only 4 of each. could do with another block if im honest. No mirror near hairdryers. Wash basin height too high.

Nothing to dislike about the site, had everything you need even a washing machine and Dryer.
We was mid week so peaceful just bird song. Everything clean and tidy!
Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend and go again. Val and Chris..

Average price

Ground uneven. A lot of the pitches are underneath trees which means lots of midges at this time of the year.
Inconsiderate people spoiling the area with their loud music into the early hours and dogs not being kept under control.

Lovely site, such clean toilets staff were lovely, everything was conveniently located

Only downside was the lack of service on phones, but this isn’t the sites fault and you don’t need to sit on your phone for camping
