The road out was the only thing i liked about this place.
Showers were clean.

The road noise was as if they were driving 5 ft away from the tent.
Farmer driving heavy plant machines before 5am waking us up.
Someones discarded tent left on the pitch next to us (probably still there).
Very noisy students laughing drinking till gone 1.30am both nights we were there.
No one patroling the entire site at all.
The veiw of the hall in the advertisment was nothing like that on the camping field trees all over grown had to drive toget a glimpse of the hall.
The site is on a slope uncomfortable to camp on in a tent.
No one to complain to at night all locked up and gone home from office.

Most pitches offer privacy for sitting by van and without feeling too close to others. Peaceful site even though it was very busy especially on the Saturday when we stayed. Nice stroll along lake from site. Great location for the Wolds and Castle Howard. Appreciated the 2 for 1 entry to the Castle Howard frounds meaning £18.70 for both of us - instead of each! Also liked the relaxed atmosphere of the site as in not having signs everywhere telling you rules etc. Friendly staff . Showers were good - not the fanciest facilities but absolutely fine for the reasonable price of our stay.

We got 2for1 tickets for Castle Howard through the campsite and had a lovely day out.

Flushing toilets

The site. So noisy, next to a road that's used as a race track throughout the night. The photo on the website of the view is false as all that can be seen it trees. There is no lakeside view, at all.
No one monitoring noise so young privileged left to keep everyone awake until the early hours. Complained and was told I should have let them know. At £22 I expect them to monitor the noise.

Showers felt cooler than previous years.

Location - loads to do in the area , went to flamingo land , lavender fields, castle Howard and even drove to the York designer outlet for a day of shopping . Showers and toilets were clean and relatively modern , several drinking water taps dotted around , all I would expect from campsite facilities.

Distance to showers and toilets from tent pitches - facilities are in the camper van area which didn’t make sense to me as most campers have their own facilities readily available, it made it difficult for my daughter having to really run to the toilet every time she needed to go as it was so far away . Grass hadn’t been cut in our pitch area (47) for some time, the grass was long making it difficult when using camp stove as had to clear grass first in case of fire also makes it difficult to find tent pegs etc and also resulting in the grass being very wet after a few days of heavy rain , if grass had been cut it would have been a different experience.

Disappointed with the site very noisy the showers and toilets were not very clean. Reception was very unhelpful. The fishing lake was very disappointing and that was the main reason for going then we were told we had to pay £7 to fish there. Would not go again or recommend.

The showers were clean and the water was hot.

Lack of WiFi considering the mobile signal is so patchy.

The tent/van no hookup field felt very disconnected to the rest of the site.

Can’t comment on customer service, staff were not around for check in after 17:00 or even 13:00 for our friend on the Saturday.
