Kampaoh Costa del Sol

This is a great stretch of coast for those who like a bit of activity with their beach holidays – golf, bike rental and buggy driving tours are all available nearby, and of course there’s plenty to keep you occupied on/in the water too, with windsurfing, surfing, scuba diving and boat tours aplenty. Aquavelis Water Park (10 minutes’ drive) is a good option if you’ve got kids that prefer a pool day. It doesn’t all have to be busy times, of course – you could just seek out one of the local beaches and spend a nice relaxed day there. Places like Playa Burriana (half an hour), Playa de El Morche (25 minutes) and Playa Calaceite (25 minutes) make good outings if you want a change from the beach by the site. As well as seaside antics, you could plan inland days hiking around Sierra de Tejeda (40 minutes), climb Frigiliana mountain (25 minutes) or stroll around towns like Torrox (20 minutes) or Nerja (25 minutes). Malaga city (35 minutes) is well worth a trip to, for a day visiting the Alcazaba, the cathedral and the Picasso Museum, and stopping in at the Mercado Central for a tasty lunch.
