A aimé The pitch as such and surrounding nature is great. Nice opportunities for a walk

N'a pas aimé Amenities too minimal: no dish washing basin or counter. Wash basin in toilet is too small and low. Invalid toilets integrated in shower and wash cabin is unpractical.
When quiet is no problem but when 2 people shower at the same time ( which is is usually the case when its morning and terrain is more full) no one can get to the toilet.

We encourage all vans to have their own facilities as the ones on site are specifically accessible but we decided to open them as an added extra.

A aimé Site based in lovely old walled garden of a beautiful estate with lovely walkd. Lots of space between pitches and most are level. Good waste facilities and all very accessable. 10 minute walk to village pub with excellent restaurant and a 15 minute taxi ride to Berwick with nice shops and restaurants / cafes and sights.

N'a pas aimé My husband and I booked into your Caravan site at Paxton House on 31/12/25 for one evening. This booking was made after a conversation with a member of the Paxton team as I had questions to ask.
I asked if fireworks were permitted on site and I was informed No due to live stock on site. This is why we booked this site as we have 2 dogs who get stressed at fireworks and loud noises.

On arriving at the site we were booked into location 8 apparently another 3 people had also been allocated that lot, camper vans/caravans just ended up parking anywhere and everywhere due to lack of organisation.

As we approached midnight one of the residents proceeded to set fire works off, much to our horror and the distress of our dogs.
If that was not bad enough there was then arguments between campers. The language and aggression was unbelievable this continued for over an hour. If we had not had a drink we would have packed up and left there and then but unfortunately we had to listen to this verbal abuse which left me worried.

We managed to get some broken sleep but have to say we were on edge the whole night as we knew things had not settled down with the altercations happening around us and several vehicles being moved around.

This was a very disappointing visit and one we will not be recommending to people.

We are sorry to read that you were unhappy with your stay on New Years’ Eve.

We do have a phone number which is contactable 24/7 this is on our website and displayed prominently on the notice board in the caravan park. We also do have a warden who lives onsite and a team who perform regular checks. Had you called we would have been able to address some of your concern. Please do call should you ever decide to stay again, if there any issues and our team will do what they can to help.

We are disappointed that fireworks were set off- this is against our site rules- because we are next to a farm which has livestock. This was not something we were aware of until we saw your review. We are sorry your dogs were frightened.

There was no sign of a bonfire when we did the check in on the fist of January in the morning. We also did not see any roaming dogs off lead- again this is against the site rules. Had we seen any we would have asked them to pop them back on the lead.

When we did our evening check at 9.30pm on NYE, we noted all vans in pitches- we know that some were not on correctly allocated pitches and we worked hard to ensure that all vans were sited close to on on their number. We are looking at implementing new systems going forward to ensure that all vans go to the correct pitch number as per their bookings to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

We also checked the site at check out time on the 1st and noted that people were correctly checking out as per their bookings.

A aimé We had an absolutely amazing stay at Paxton House in Berwickshire. The house itself is stunning, beautifully maintained, and spotless throughout. Everything was so clean and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable.

The surroundings are truly beautiful, with lovely walks right on the doorstep. We spent a lot of time exploring the grounds and enjoying the peaceful scenery. It’s a perfect place to relax and unwind.

The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves – there was plenty of space for them to explore and they loved being outdoors so much. It’s a fantastic place for families as well as anyone looking for a calm and memorable getaway.

We would highly recommend Paxton House and would happily return in the future.

N'a pas aimé Most pitches had the incorrect camper pitched on them.
May I suggest in future bookings for all concerned show an availability map to choose from then confirm pitch number.
Most people who have used Paxton in the past weren’t aware they had an allocated number as it wasn’t made clear on their Email

You are completely correct- we have recently introduced allocations to improve operations but this has caused confusion with previous visitors and this was particularly evident over the new year period.
Our warden spoke to many guests over the 30th and 31st to help with the allocations.
We have a plan now to ensure that allocations are adhered to and more obvious on the booking emails from Pitch Up.
We hope to welcome you again soon.

A aimé We stayed for 4 nights Sunday to Thursday on arrival we rang the number on the notice board and left a message to say we was checking in and pitched on the pitch we was allocated number 25, we really enjoyed our stay at Paxton great location and plenty to see and do around the estate we also walked along the river to the chain bridge . Plenty of wildlife to be seen we saw buzzards deer herons and even a seal catching a fish, the owls are active after dark and we enjoyed our evening walks trying to catch a glimpse but alas you only hear them maybe next time . We caught the bus (32) from the house into Berwick upon tweed the driver was very chatty and informative and on the return dropped us off at the campsite a thumbs up from us, the 2 shower/toilet rooms were clean and adequate but became limited when the site was full at new year . We will be back in the spring so we can experience this beautiful site when the trees are in leaf

N'a pas aimé Could do with a few separate toilets for when both showers are in use and also a pot wash area would be a good addition, a 5mph speed limit on site as a few drivers (cars) thought it was a race track and young children were playing out .

N'a pas aimé Unruly people making noise late at night and arguing. Dogs wandering around not on leads. We came back to the pitch tonight and find someone has lit a bonfire on a caravan pitch. We have no way of contacting anyone to report things
