A little wild over the idea of wild camping within reach of watersports, sandy beaches and prehistoric caves? This is the way of Tucketts Farm… with views over the Teign estuary and Dartmoor, this Devon site is all geared up for guests to go wild camping 10 minutes’ drive away from Bishopsteignton and 20 minutes from Paignton and Teignmouth. Part of a working farm, among your neighbours will be pigs and goats. You’ll be able to sip on cider from the site’s licensed cider house and get first dibs on farm produce available from the site. And also in the way of relaxation, there are firepits provided so that you may get a campfire going in the evening. Before you plop down there, though, it’s likely that dinner will be on your mind. Handily, the site is 15 minutes’ walk away from the village of Combeinteignhead. Aside from its historic church, there are two popular gastro pubs where you can source some tasty grub – one facing inland and the other looking over the estuary – and another pub beside the sea, half an hour’s walk away. As for those little snacks you’ll want to nibble on throughout the day, supermarkets can be hunted down in the nearest town, Newton Abbott (10 minutes’ drive).
