Ashen Cross Farm Camping

A aimé We loved it here. It was in a beautiful peaceful location, it felt like wild camping, but still only about five minutes drive from Looe. We stayed in the prepitched tent with the covered kitchen and it was brilliant, it had everything we needed and had been really thought about down to little details like fold up stools to sit on and solar powered fairy lights. My children loved the foosball table in the barn.

A aimé We have just returned from a weeks’ stay in the ready tent and loved the hassle free camping! No tent to set up or put away and it was so much more comfortable having mattresses to sleep on. The covered kitchen was amazing and had everything we needed. The campsite is small and quiet and within easy reach of some gorgeous beaches. There is only one bathroom but the campsite wasn’t full, so this wasn’t an issue at any point. There is no electric hook up to the tent but we had use of a shared fridge and charging points in the communal area - again the campsite was quiet so this was never a problem. The owners (and their lovely dog) are really friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.

A aimé Beautiful location, quiet and small. It's basic so if you are after lots of on-site amenities and entertainment, this is not for you. However, if you want some peace and quiet, a decent shower, fridge/freezer and mains power access, and above all peace and quiet then this is the spot. Simon and Sophie were brilliant hosts, and you are a very short hike to Talland Bay and a decent local shop (I would suggest going to the bigger shop on the corner rather than the Co-Op). Perfect.

A aimé Small, quiet location, ideally placed for looe and other beaches.

Loved the fact your could just turn up and everything was ready, great kitchen area, everything you could need was there.

Good shower, we had no problems sharing it with other campers.
Loved watching the barn owl flying over in the evening.

N'a pas aimé Abit close to other campers website is abit miss leading with only 4 pitches u think the toilet block would be a bit nicer snd not full of junk its an ok place for quick stay one night max

A aimé Simon is a very good host. He is very helpfull and really welcoming.
The place is very Nice, quiet and Well located (half way between polperro and looe).

It is surrounded by lovely walks.

A aimé What a lovely campsite! The owners were really friendly and helpful and Spud the dog was lovely too! The pitches are well spaced out so even if the campsite is busy you would still have plenty of privacy. They have a couple of firepits available to borrow which made for some lovely evenings sitting by the fire. There was also a little folder in the facilities barn with suggestions and maps of local walks, places to eat and things to do which was a great touch.
I was lucky enough to have the whole site to myself but even if it was full they’ve made a provision for an extra toilet in case someone is in the shower and you’re desperate. The shower and toilet were lovely and clean and the shower was amazing! Fridge/freezer helpful and spacious too, lovely washing up area inside the barn block as well.
Might be a bit of a squeeze if lots of big tents so check the dimensions before you go, luckily I was able to grab the biggest pitch which fitted my Vango 450 tent, but it was snug!
Head torch is essential for the evenings as it has very little light pollution! Also needed to mind out for the toads and newts that appeared on the grass paths once it was dark too!
Overall I had a lovely peaceful and relaxing stay, I will definitely be back, hopefully with better weather next time too!
