Roundoak Farm

A aimé We booked Round Oak Farm camping for a Saturday night towards the end of the season, as a last minute getaway.
We’d not been before, but we will certainly be back!
Stunning views, lovely woods and grounds to walk around, you can see nearly all the animals (no entering any closed gates) including the brilliant Highland Cows, Pigs, Sheep, Geese, Hens and more.
Staff were super friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean and well equipped. The bar area is beautifully set up and the grounds immaculately maintained.
We were very fortunate to have the whole site to ourselves for camping, and watched the sun setting over the trees.
Next time we’ll try and remember to check out the shop. We had our campervan and settled on an EHU grass pitch. Despite the recent wet weather the ground was still firm and pitches are set out to be very spacious.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be coming for more than just one night next time.

N'a pas aimé Well, I could say 'the weather could have been a bit warmer at night', but that is far out of the control of Round Oak Farm! There's not much I would ask them to improve to be fair. It will be interesting to go back at high season with other visitors staying and see how it all comes together.

A aimé Very peaceful secluded site. Has a nice feel to the place and is well laid out with a short woodland walk on site. The single track lane on approach is not a problem, there are plenty of places to pull in for vehicles to pass.

N'a pas aimé There is a function room/bar in the barn which is a really nice space to spend some time. I assume it's for private functions only as this was not open when we were there.

Réponse du gestionnaire : I normally, as everybody knows less than ten out of ten is not acceptable.
I keep reminding everybody we are classed as a CL site.
Our facilities are above and beyond average.
No! the bar is not open every time we have somebody on site. It depends how busy we are and it is at our discretion.
We do allow visitors to use the area especially in bad weather.
I appreciate the good things said about the site and hope the arrangement we have regarding the yard bar is understood.

A aimé Very friendly people, site was amazing, very clean shower blocks, coffee machine, meat products for sale,eggs egg. Plenty of electric hook ups. We got to see all the animals including a highland calf being born we will most definitely be back.

A aimé Beautiful site in peaceful surroundings, very friendly and welcoming. A nice woodland walk for morning or late night doggy walks.

A aimé We had a really lovely stay at Roundoak Farm Campsite. Norman, the owner, is such a nice guy and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived.
The facilities are excellent, the pitches are level and well looked after, and the whole site has a really relaxed, chilled atmosphere. There’s also a lovely little walk through the wooded area, which adds to the peaceful feel of the place.
For us, the views and the tranquillity are two of the campsite’s biggest assets. It’s the sort of place where you can properly switch off, relax and enjoy the surroundings.
We would definitely recommend and would have no hesitation in coming back again.

A aimé What a special place. Lovely peaceful site overlooking rare breed cattle and sheep.
Extremely welcoming people and we loved the special opportunity to see their newly born calves.
Set in beautiful countryside, loved
their yard bar- very stylish.
Great local pubs too.

A aimé What an amazing place, the facilities are top notch, the grounds are beautiful and the animals are well kept. We had the most amazing time here, we had the pleasure of socialising with Ruth and Norman and I have got to say what lovely people. loved listening to their stories. Will be back there very soon. A definite 10/10 all round.
