Me gustó Even though the campsite is currently being renovated (we had a heads up in advance) Nicholas, who is an absolute gem that I could talk to for hours, and his two lovely dogs, set us up at the top of a hill looking over the Teign valley.

At such a high vantage point, the views were phenomenal and the night sky was sublime!

There was running water, a basic toilet and a shed shower (which we didn't use but it was available). Everything you need for a back to basics camping weekend!

Me gustó Regarding with traffic nice and peaceful, only the odd car.

No me gustó There was ivy branches growing through into the Barn.
The first night got there, it seemed the host got a bit narky as when I literally got into bed, and the slats collapsed, as they were rotten, and when I rung up, it seemed to me, that it was a inconvenience, as he had just said can't you just sleep in the single beds. The toilet outside didn't flush. With regards to the toilet and the slats, the host had said he had braced the bed, but there was still creaking, as it was just a quick fix. There was also a smell of mould/damp, I had a shower before I came here, and when I stayed in a hotel after, my hair was absolutely filthy from staying in this place. The host's shower wasn't working, so had to make do with a personal wash. The host said he done a quick fix regarding the toilet outside, but it didn't still flush. I paid £120 for this experience, and if I was staying in a hotel I wouldn't expect them to say oh the toilet is not working, and the shower is broke.

Del administrador: I fear that this negative review was justified. I must comment that this is a bunkhouse NOT glamping. A bunkhouse is probably not a well known commodity in England but is common enough in Scottish highlands and Snowdonia and northern USA and Canada. It is designed for respite traditionally if a shepherd can't get home due to appalling weather and is therefore basic. I found that a valve in the portaloo needed replacing (unbeknown to me) and therefore wouldn't flush. The shower was non-operational due to a water leak somewhere in the inlet pipe which I told them about. The bed in question was new last year but the slats had separated (3 layers) over the winter -I did correct this after their phone call.
The whole bunkhouse experience needs more investment, however changing its character overall won't happen as there is clearly a market for this between glamping (£100ppp and tent-only(£20ppp) I have just got 10/10 for tent only this last week so I try to take care as a host.

Me gustó Basic campsite for a good old fashioned camping! Very quiet and peaceful 😍 We absolutely loved it! The site was lovely and in a perfect spot, the views were spectacular. Acres of land you can walk or to just relax and enjoy your time on the site by your tent. Had a firepit, portaloo and a shed with a couple of chairs and also some leaflets. Nicholas the owner was an absolute gem and very accommodating. He even came and greeted us and had a good chat aswell. He was very helpful with directions also and his dog was beautiful and friendly. He even recommended a few places to visit and what we could do if we wanted to explore around the area or further afield. We mainly had the site to ourselves except for another local couple who was camping for a few days which was fabulous as we made new friends which in turn made the weekend even better. We will definitely recommend this site to anyone who loves basic camping. And we will definitely be back for sure maybe even stay long than 3 days next time! Thankyou again for an amazing stay Nicholas, we will return 100%.
