Liked Close to Tingatel, 20 minutes slow walk. View over bay, quiet small site. Owner Doug stopped for a chat, pleasant and helpful, came to site every day. Portaloo, water, Elsan on site. Preferred this site to King Arthur's Car Park which has no view other than the carpark and they charge for water/Elsan.

Liked Short walk to bus stop, Southport and Liverpool. Clean Site. Staff helpful. Toilets clean. The new shower block is lovely and modern.

Disliked Hardstanding was black matting type with holes in, and was overgrown with weeds. Pitch was between two very large trees, we had to park very close under one tree to enable us to erect a porch awning, to avoid large roots from the other. Anyone with a large awning would have a problem. One way loose stone road, not ideal when idiots whizz around swirling stones everywhere.

Disliked Travellers allowed on site, mess everywhere. No grass on pitch, just dust, don't wear open shoes or white socks! Swimming pool closed more than it was open and is quite a walk to other site. Showers, have to keep hand on button, as mentioned in previous reviews.

Liked Wardens are excellent, very friendly and helpful. Hardstanding pitch on green field spacious and close to toilet block and outdoor play area. Short walk to Brean Splash and theme park.

Disliked A little dark when walking back at night. The cashier in the supermarket (receipt named her as Lesley A). Grandkids only touched the shelf with the purses on and it fell to the floor. They started to pick them up while I went to tell the cashier. THREE times I said it was an accident only to be scowled at, then she said nastily 'pick those up' . She could not fit the shelf back on properly. No manners when paying for gifts. Very Very rude person!!!

Liked Large space for motorhome and awning. Swimming pool warm (although a non refundable charge of 50p per locker is a bit steep). Walking around the lakes. The open air theatre will be nice in good weather when open for use. A lot of money is being spent so will have to go back next year with grandkids. A pub with carvery 5 minutes walk from site entrance, also a Chinese, Greggs, chip shop. Clean toilet/shower block but make sure you use it just after cleaning.

Disliked Travellers allowed on site, which reception staff refused to believe when I mentioned it. Venue staff confirmed there had been some problems (did not affect us). As said the charge for the swimming lockers. Very poor tv signal. Dog owners walking their beloved pets across the camping field, where tents will be pitched. One even walked there to groom the german shepherd, not pleasant for tents with small children. Dogs even allowed to sit on the seats and table tops just outside the Venue. Not site fault but had to tip toe through the geese droppings, take a pair of wellies.

Liked Friendly wardens, very clean site. Wi-Fi included in price. Added bonus of pub style bench/table along side pitch (electric hardstanding). Easy walk into Stourport along river or through housing estate, bit longer into Bewdley. Quiet in June, booked again for August.

Liked Clean site, locked gates, fairly level grass pitches, well stocked information hut, very friendly welcome from host. Excellent location for regular buses into York (via Designer Outlet) and Selby (Abbey). Will return if in this area again.

Disliked Quite a bit of road noise, may bother lighter sleepers, but after a full day in York we were too tired to notice!

Liked Close to promenade leading to Barmouth town. Quiet (out of main season) with train going past every 2 hours until around 10pm so not a problem, didn't notice much road noise. Easy to get to train station in town. Clean site except for some dog mess not cleaned up. Beach sandy and long.

Disliked Dogs: rule number 14 broken (dogs must be kept on a short leash), not everyone likes dogs and some like me are afraid when they bound up around me, dogs allowed to exercise in the enclosed kiddie playground. Dogs allowed to use every piece of grass as a toilet even by awnings, most owners did pick up but not all deposits are solid! Pitch: No. 64: we paid extra for an awning but found a very large boulder on the grass area, there was a raised log between the gravel and grass so we could only use half of the awing for fear of twisting ankles. Grass was the worst on the site, patchy and muddy. Overpriced for this pitch.

From the manager: Thank you for pointing out your fear of dogs, hopefully people will take more notice of a fellow customer that my staff. With regards too awnings they stay on the hard standing only so should have stopped at the wooden divide that separates the hard standing to grass. With regards to your pitch grass area we do have an issue with moles and as gardeners will know, where moles mound the grass takes a time to re grow, even though we had used grass seed, which with the extenede dry weather has not help some pitches recouperate. My question would be as to why you did not bring these points up with the wardens during your stay? then we may have been able to spource another pitch as we have done for many of our customers

Liked Large electric pitches. Good walks around waterports centre. Ideal for kids, small playground and space to run around. Bus stop just outside to Nottingham, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays number 11c, other days need to walk a short way to small terminus (left out of site, then right and walk towards a large blue sign, bus number 11).

Disliked Electric hook ups, motorhomes and tents are put in the same area. Two tents turned up on the pitch next to us (non electric) and pitched just 2-3 feet away from the side of our motorhome, they were 3 young chaps and 2 girls, so much for same sex only bookings. We were pitched next to the road which was very dusty, especially when people are driving fast. No shops or pub within walking distance (small cafe at watersports centre for snacks/drinks).

Liked Easy walking distance to Gullivers Land, 5-10 minutes. Willen Lake Park easy to walk to, 10-15 minutes, but roads can be busy. Restaurants/pubs nearby. Campbell Park and Willen Village close but we did not go to.

Disliked Some of the pitches were a little untidy. Some hazards around toilet block, raised paving slabs, large stone gravel. Toilet block smelled awful, even after cleaning. A lot of activities closed.

Liked Easy access to canal walks, castle, village, pubs and local shop/garden centre. Very clean, pitches well marked out and good size. Owners and site manager very pleasant and welcoming. Only booked as a last minute weekend getaway, but will be back sometime in the future. Bus stop just outside entrance (did not use).

Liked Location: Very Close to West Bay harbour and beach (few minutes walk). Coastal walks and walks into Bridport. Bus service from harbour to Weymouth/Lyme Regis (every 2 hours in April). Site: Large pitches. Facilities on site are shut at moment except for the swimming pool.

Liked Friendly greeting by Tom (Manager). Flat pitch, clean site. Toilet block very clean. Clothes washing facilities if needed. Small village. Bus stops just outside site to Wells & Weston. Quiet when we stayed (pub not open during our stay). Stopover on way to Dorset, will stay again.
