6-amp electric grass pitch
Liked Looks like it had nice summer facilities with covered bar area and small store. We visited in wet weather in October when the site was mostly empty and stayed in our motorhome so didn't use many facilities. Hardstanding and power/water for motorhomes was next to the pitch, which was ideal.
Liked the goats/aviary and the dog and I spent many happy minutes watching the fun. It was a short walk into the village where there were two pubs (although the nearer wasn't open on a Tuesday)
There looked to be children's play area too. I can imagine in summer this site being much more active, for us as a halfway stopover on the way to Cumbria it worked fine.
There is a goods trainline nearby which does hoot for a crossing further up the line. As we live near one of those already it didn't bother us.
Disliked It is a farm site, so an open field.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked such a well kept and planned site, with fully-serviced pitches easy to access and not on top of each other. Site kitchen and washing up area easy to access and kept clean. Great WiFi coverage
Disliked nothing to dislike that we experienced.

Electric grass pitch
Liked Great little rustic site just 10 mins walk from the local village pub. Parking next to your tent. Facilities kept clean each day
Disliked Sometimes have to queue for one of the three toilets in the morning rush hour.

Electric optional grass pitch
Liked lovely well kept campsite in excellent condition. Adults only, and dogs welcome, which is why we chose it. Toilets and showers in excellent condition and kept clean. plenty of space for washing up. Electric easy to access at the edge of every grass pitch. A useful little bothy to sit in with pool table for cold evenings. A local farm cafe was also just 200m walk away along a path!
Disliked only thing that caught us by surprise was the arrival by 6pm rule. (I expect it was clear in the small print, but you look at the pictures first!) Had to hurriedly organise an afternoon off work to drive the A303 in time to be there. I guess this is timed along with the reception desk closure to ensure all clients are in the correct pitches.

From the manager: Thank you for your great review John. You're right it is clear when booking via Pitch-up that 6pm is the latest arrival time. We are pleased that you still enjoyed your stay with us. Best wishes from us all at Barley Meadow.
