Great location for Lyme but small pitches & limited space for families

Aug 2026

Liked The biggest positive about this site is definitely its location. It’s ideally situated for visiting Lyme Regis, which is the main reason we enjoyed our stay. The facilities on site were clean and easy to access, which was also a plus

Disliked Unfortunately, we found the pitch sizes quite small, especially when travelling with a campervan and awning. Usually, we have enough room beside the van for our son and husband to kick a ball around or play a few games but that just wasn’t possible here. The site is set out over different levels, with quite a few lumps and bumps, which limits the usable space around your pitch. For us, this made a difference because we enjoy spending time back at the campsite during the afternoon, rather than just using it as somewhere to sleep. If you’re planning to spend most of your days out exploring and only return in the evening, then the location is great. However, if you’re travelling with children and want them to have space to play when you’re back on site, I wouldn’t say it’s particularly family-friendly in that respect, and you may find yourself needing to go elsewhere for activities. The tumble dryer was another downside. It cost us around £10 to get our clothes dry after using the washing machine, which we felt was expensive. Overall, the location is excellent, but the limited pitch space and lack of room for children to play meant the site wasn’t quite right for us

A lovely, peaceful countryside escape with beautiful walks and views

Oct 2026

Liked We had a lovely stay at Tyre Farm! It’s a peaceful location with stunning countryside views and lovely walks right on your doorstep. Perfect for getting out and about, enjoying the fresh air and exploring the surrounding area. We loved being able to head out for a walk, stop off at a pub for a drink and then return to the van to relax for the evening. There’s something so nice about getting cosy in the campervan, putting a film on and just switching off from everyday life. The scenery is great and it’s a great spot if you enjoy countryside walks, a bit of exploring and a relaxing getaway. We really enjoyed our time here and would happily visit again!

Disliked The only thing worth mentioning is that, for the first time in four years of camping, our electric hookup extension didn’t quite reach the electric point from where we needed to park on the pitch. This meant we had to park slightly off the pitch to make it work. It wasn’t the fault of the site or ourselves, just one of those things we hadn’t come across before. It didn’t spoil our stay, but it’s worth mentioning for anyone using their own electric hookup lead

Beautiful riverside campsite - peaceful, family friendly & relaxing

Jul 2026

Liked We had a fantastic stay at Ceiriog Valley Park. The campsite is peaceful, spacious and surrounded by beautiful scenery, with the river running alongside the site. It was the perfect place to relax and let our son enjoy the outdoors. The pitches were well maintained with plenty of space, and the facilities were always clean. The location is ideal for exploring the local area too, we visited Chirk Aqueduct and spent hours paddling in the river, climbing rocks and even fossil hunting. It was lovely to be able to switch off and enjoy nature. We’d definitely recommend this campsite to families and anyone looking for a quiet, scenic getaway

Disliked Nothing at all. We genuinely couldn’t fault our stay and will definitely be returning

Great location, clean site and family friendly overall

May 2026

Liked We’ve just stayed here for four nights and overall had a lovely stay. The location was great for visiting both Looe and Polperro, and the site itself was always clean, tidy, and well looked after. The pitches were spacious and the site was peaceful overall. We enjoyed our stay due to the location and well-kept site.

Disliked The children’s park could do with some improvements, as there wasn’t a huge amount for kids to do on site so a lot of the children including our son played a lot on the middle green when not at the park, A few of the residents on some of the pitches also didn’t seem very welcoming towards children and were shouting at them on a couple of occasions, despite it being May half term and families naturally being around. The shower blocks were clean but quite dark inside, so brighter lighting would really help for things like doing makeup or drying/styling hair.

From the manager: Thanks for your review. I'm glad your general experience was good, and I am sorry if some of our guests had issues with your kids. Anyone staying on a campsite over half-term should obviously expect to find children sharing the site. I wasn't made aware of any issues at the time, so I can only guess at what might have happened. We usually encourage kids to play on the field where the play equipment is, away from the pitches. I was aware that there was a lot of play occurring in the main field over the BH weekend, but I believed most people in that area had kids, and it all appeared to be well controlled. I know it can be a little annoying for some people if children are using balls near caravans, or hiding behind motorhomes; however, I don't approve of guests shouting at other people's children when a quiet word with them, you, or site staff would have been a better response. I do agree that the lighting in the ladies showers near the mirrors and hair dryer could be improved. I will look into this.

This was our second stay at…

Aug 2025

Liked This was our second stay at Oathill Farm, and it’s a place full of special memories as it was the very first site we visited after converting our campervan. The site is peaceful, clean, and well-kept. One of the yellow-signed walks even takes you past an emu farm, which our child absolutely loved again. The owners are genuinely warm and welcoming, and they went above and beyond to help us when we needed it. The site is perfectly located for exploring Lyme Regis, West Bay, Eype Beach, and plenty of other beautiful spots nearby.

Disliked Would be great if there was a swing/slide for children somewhere on site but as we are out a lot it wasn’t a big problem for us

Jul 2023

Liked Excellent shower/toilet block. Lovely site situated next to a little river that you can take children down to fish or play in the water in the warm weather, nice little park, quiet and relaxing vibe on site with great views

Disliked Park size could do with some added pieces to it to entertain children for longer periods

Jul 2023

Liked The facilities on site were clean, everything was in a short walking distance from our pitch. there was plenty for the children to do the whole weekend with regards to the entertainment even with the weather being so poor, in between the bad weather there is a nice park, small theme park, market for the adults to walk around. The splash park is so good and great attraction to the site.

Disliked Drinks in the entertainment are over priced. Only complaint on the splash park is the floors with small children still learning they need to walk not run everywhere they either need to replace tiles with none slip tiles or non slip matts putting down as it is a hazard

Liked Toilet/shower block and good spot for local walks to see Dexter cows and Emu’s

Disliked Hard standing is hard as you would expect but it damaged a lot of pegs for the awning, we did eventually get some in, will buy some thicker screw pegs for future
