  • Alton Towers and the Peak District National Park 15 minutes’ drive
  • Fresh eggs available; logs and barbecues provided for a small cost
Ready for weekend breaks and nights under the stars on an adults-only Staffordshire hideaway? Staying at Tyre Farm sees you 15 minutes’ drive from Alton Towers and the Peak District National Park; wherever you find yourself on site there are spectacular views across open countryside to wild moorland and the landmark Winkhill. Logs and disposable barbecues are available for a small cost on request. Breakfast is sorted as you can fry up freshly laid eggs straight from the farm chickens. Pick up other foodie bits and pieces from the supermarkets in Leek (15 minutes), or head to pubs and restaurants if outdoor cooking isn’t your forté; there are quite a few options within 20 minutes of the site. As the pitches are on a working smallholding, no children are allowed on site.

Rudyard non-electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: We stayed on a gravel pitch, much needed in this current weather. Nice and big with lovely views all around, working farm and lovely to see the animals especially the naughty goats. The reception has the washing up sink, toilet and shower, very nice and spotlessly clean. Really enjoyed and could see us staying again

Dovedale electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: This is a working farm in a very peaceful location, very friendly owners. Very clean and modern facilities. There's a good dog walking field but was too wet to use.

Disliked: The pitches are situated on the edge of the track that leads up to the farm which felt a bit unusual. There's only one toilet/shower for the whole campsite, although it is a very small site. No visible walks near to the site.

From the manager: Thankyou for your review, we are a very small site with only 5 pitches in total, however we are hoping to have another toilet/shower on site in the near future. We have many walks close by which previous guests have enjoyed, we have many public footpaths in very easy reach of the farm, we provide lots of walking books on site for people to choose where they would like to go, hope we see you again in the future. Kind regards Karen and Andrew

Rudyard non-electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: We stayed for 1 night in our campervan on the hardstanding pitch. It's a lovely, small site, in a great area, with fab views and good phone signal. Facilities were clean and tidy. Owners were friendly and helpful. Selection of games and dvds to borrow during your stay! Fresh eggs were available to buy - they were delicious 😋 We will definitely be back.
