Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Really friendly owners.
Great to be able to choose the pitch we wanted as the site was pretty quiet.
On site bar was a bonus and sold a good range of drinks.
Having a fire pit by the pitch was good for the evenings.
Good location for visiting the Peak District.
Disliked Only a minor thing but there was no hot water when we stayed - but it is 'wild camping'.

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch (family)
Liked Great site in a good location for lots of places to visit.
Very large pitches (we were in a non-electric, family pitch) and oot crowded.
On-site bar and pizza stall were a great addition.
Clean toilets, showers and washing up facilities.
As well as using the on-site bar, walk into Boulmer (20 minutes) and go to the Fishing Boat Inn. Great pub with friendly staff and fantastic food.
Would definitely recommend and stay here again.
Disliked Nothing. We were initially concerned when we arrived and saw the toilets and showers, but absolutely no issues.

Electric grass tent pitch (five person)
Liked Great welcome by the friendly and helpful Site Manager.
Large pitch size.
Spotlessly clean toilet, shower and washing up facilities. One of the best we've seen.
'Powder room' with hairdryer and sockets.
Nice location. Handy for a trip to Lincoln.
Quiet site, given the number of permanent caravans.
Disliked WiFi would be great, but a very minor point.

Hurdlow, Derbyshire, England
Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Friendly and helpful site managers on arrival. Good size pitches. Clean showers and toilets. Great pub on site for breakfast and evening meals (the pizzas were excellent). Was very busy when we were there, but the site manager went round each evening asking people to keep the noise down after 10pm, which everyone respected. Good site for families - there were several groups of families/friends there.
Disliked Very minor thought, but possibly have a shelter over the washing up areas as you'd get wet in the rain!

Liked Quiet site in a lovely area.
Friendly and helpful owners.
Clean and well stocked toilet and shower blocks (separate male and female).
Walks from the site to local pubs (about 2 miles away) through nature reserves and along canals.
Fantastic social area with kettle, toaster, fridges and microwave. Plenty of seating - but it was always quiet when we wanted to use it.
Well maintained site with loads of pitches to choose from.
Disliked Could possibly do with an extra sink in each toilet block for busy times, but a minor issue.

Newborough, Anglesey, Wales
Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Great small site with good sized pitches. Really friendly and helpful owners. The text they sent giving final directions on the morning of arrival was really useful. Spotlessly clean showers and toilets which the owner cleaned and refreshed towels and toilet roll constantly. Nice kitchen facility with hot water and washing up liquid provided. Useful fridges, freezer, microwave, kettle and charging facilities. Good location with a 40 minute walk to a beach and 10 minutes walk to a good pub and well-stocked super market. Would definitely recommend and like to go back to explore Anglesey more. Wifi was useful but a bit patchy at our pitch which was one on the furthest from the entrance. Great value for money.
Disliked Possibly a couple more showers and toilets would be useful at peak times but absolutely not an issue.

Lichfield, Staffordshire, England
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Lovely quiet location with very friendly staff. Spotlessly clean showers and toilets. Pub (The Plough) was only a 10 minute walk down the canal tow path (accessible through a locked gate from the site) - fantastic food (the 'Plough' pizza was excellent). Walked into Lichfield for the day (about 5 miles each way mainly down quiet country roads.
At £10 per night for a basic pitch with no hook up (in May) this site was great value. Definitely recommend.
Disliked Only two toilets and showers might mean some queues at busy times (but we had no issues). Also only one kitchen/washing up area which meant quite a walk.
