The perfect place to spend 5…

Aug 2026

Liked The perfect place to spend 5 days of hot French summer. A handful of pitches, surrounded by views of fields and Hautefort chateau. Our pitch was under the shade of the the willow tree, where we we greeted by cows from the neighbouring field on several morning - before being presented with a basket of fresh boulangerie items (probably the best croissants in France!). The carefully maintained pool and outdoor shower were a welcome relief after mornings/afternoons exploring. We enjoyed road cycling (also lots of off-road routes available) and footpaths, including on the old railway line and through the Boisseuilh railway tunnel. Hautefort chateau (5km walk via quiet road/footpath) is well worth a visit- and there are a handful of bars/restaurants in the picturesque town (Saturday evening was surprisingly quiet, but if you want to eat any day booking is recommended). Delicious, excellent value evening meals also available on request at Belle Vue, cooked by Cal and served by Simon in the old cow barn, local wine available too. They are wonderfully welcoming and helpful, on hand for local tips such as local markets worth visiting (Excideuil 20 mins drive away -Thursdays).

From the manager: Thank you for your very kind words about your stay with us; it was lovely to meet you both and a pleasure to look after you. We are very lucky to be in a beautiful area, close to nature and lots of things to see and do. Of course, it's great to be in a peaceful area but never too far from all of the things that this area offers. We are so pleased that you valued our hard work in keeping everything just right and it was wonderful to hear of your experiences...which all adds to the "tapestry" that is Camping Belle Vue. We very much hope that we will see you again but, for the meantime, we send all good wishes.

Perfect!

Aug 2026

Liked A wonderful site, a warm welcome and so many thoughtful touches- from the bathrooms (camping luxury!), to the well stocked camp kitchen with local (eg honey) and home grown produce available. We made use of the day bed and mister, and loved the hammocks too. Plenty of shade too. Bakery in the local village (great pain aux raisin and croissants), also a bar and post office and small shop.

Apr 2026

Liked Good sized pitches, we were on one with hedges making it feel nice and private- it was also very convenient for the facilities which were warm and clean. WiFi available but we didn’t use it. We were offered a choice of pitches on arrival- very welcoming and friendly service. Convenient for bus stop on main road, the pub over the road was also handy for a drink (we were a bit dubious given some reviews, but we had no issues and it was busy with a good atmosphere). Lots of footpaths for walking and exploring Suffolk towns and villages. Would recommend The White Horse pub at Edwardstone for food and drink.

Disliked Nothing.

Feb 2026

Liked Good site on outskirts of Market Rasen. Footpaths from doorstep and nice quiet roads to cycle. 30 min walk into the station for trains to Lincoln. Good contact from owner about road closures and friendly check in process from warden. Warm and clean facilities. Spacious, well maintained hard standing pitches. Good farm shop a short walk through the woods.

Liked Fantastic location- surrounded by beautiful countryside, pretty village with great pub about 10 minutes walk across the fields, views of Pendle hill from site. Simple check in -arrive and just choose your pitch, and well maintained site with good hard standing and spacious pitch. Facilities - warm showers and heated block, clean and well supplied with toilet roll, underfloor heating a bonus in January! Cute pony and frolicking horses in the field.

Good value clean and friendly site with good facilities

Aug 2025

Liked Convenient site for getting tunnel home (about an hour drive to Calais). Nice facilities and plenty of them, we were only there for one night but the site was full and we didn’t have to wait at all to use toilets/showers. The site is about a 15 min cycle away from nearby town Bailleul, which has bakeries, bars and impressive belfry. Tip- We arrived about 2.30pm so there was a bit of a queue to check in. Reception/shop opens at 9am just to be aware if ordering bread and have an early departure.

Great site, will return

Jan 2025

Liked The site’s location between Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay was ideal for us. There is a convenient bus stop with regular buses running in both directions which we made use of. Lots of footpaths and easy to get onto the Cleveland way and Cinder Track. The local pub, The Hare and Hounds was pleasant and food looked good. The pitches were a good size, well maintained hardstanding and close to the shower/toilet/washing facilities. We also had a sea view from our pitch. Lovely warm showers and well heated toilet block. You pay for electricity by top up cards bought at reception - we have a vw campervan with a small fridge, usb charging and used a hairdryer and low voltage kettle, we bought £5 credit but used less than £1 over 2 nights.

Ideal stop over, pleasant town, good value

Aug 2024

Liked Friendly staff who spoke good English. Spacious, level pitches - separated by hedges. We had electric (6amp) directly on pitch. Facilities were clean and plenty of them. There is a pleasant footpath from the site so you can reach the town in under 15 mins (past some goats and chickens). It is an attractive town with history, some beautiful old buildings and public gardens, and is adorned with colourful hanging baskets. We found the local tabac and enjoyed drinks outside (Monday aft/eve in August). At least 2 bakeries were open in the morning for coffee and pastries. An idea stop over in our way to Calais - approx 2hr drive.

Decent size pitches with lake view,…

Jul 2023

Liked Decent size pitches with lake view, in a beautiful location - good for cycling. Pleasant walk up the hill through the village to an organic goat farm where you can buy their produce including cheese. Clean facilities. Straightforward check-in. Able to order bread on site for morning.

Disliked The facilities appear to be undergoing renovation, so will potentially improve shortly but whilst we were there (end July 2023) it seemed there were only 2 showers in use (warm and powerful) in the old sanitary block at the far end of the site. We didn’t actually have to wait and it wasn’t an issue as we only stayed one night.

Friendly and welcoming small site with clean facilities.

Jul 2023

Liked Small, quiet campsite with good pitch sizes (privacy from hedges) and well maintained and clean modern amenities. Perfect location for Calais and close to pleasant town Cassel. Also the village itself, Renescure is in walking distance, though we didn’t visit this time. The owners are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Check in straightforward and option to get fresh bread delivered to your pitch in the morning (excellent bread and pastries and lots of choice). There are also 2 delightful goats, chickens and birds.

Great site for weekend stopover

Nov 2022

Liked Perfect location for weekend visiting Nottingham. 15 minute walk to pub and to bus stop where you can get a bus into city (takes about 20 mins and runs until midnight), plus pleasant walks by the Trent/around National water centre. Hot showers, clean facilities. Our pitch (81) was very convenient for toilet block and washing up. Easy self check in

Disliked Couldn’t find the recycling (where the sign was there only seemed to be one big bin that had all rubbish in)

Lovely site just outside the town…

Jul 2022

Liked Lovely site just outside the town walls of Navarranx. Friendly reception, well maintained and cleaned facilities. Good size, level pitches with shade. Electricity and Wi-Fi on pitches. Great pool, on-site pizza and frites, and quirky bar area (caravan-bar). Grocery van visits once a week. 5 minute walk to a bakery, and into the beautiful old town (spectacular town walls, arsenal, gun powder store) where there are a few lovely bars and restaurants. We were lucky to be there when there was a night farmers market- great food, drink and ambience. The municipal outdoor pool (looks very modern) is right next door (just remember your speedos as not shorts allowed!), and there are tennis courts in the moat!

Great site for short stay.

Feb 2022

Liked Modern facilities block, close to quintessential village with 2 good pubs. Loads of great footpaths nearby and easy to walk to other villages (with more good pub stops), also very close to canal and walks along towpath. The pitches are in a large field with loads of hook ups and convenient drinking water supply. There is a rough track leading to a few of the pitches which we were advised to use but currently no hard standing option (this is completely clear on the website so if you book here you know what you’re getting). It was muddy, so wellies/boots are essential, but that’s to be expected in February on grass pitches after heavy rain and a storm in its way! Some lovely Pygmy goats and alpacas to spot. Good communication from owner, checked in by text but available if anything needed. The high speed trains didn’t really bother us (fairly regular tooting) but might disturb you more if you’re in a tent.

Excellent site

Sept 2021

Liked Stunning views and surrounding countryside. Excellent shower. Water tap on every pitch. Freindly owners, friendly sheep. Small site. Location-short walk from great unique pub ‘three stags’ at wardlow mires or about 20 min walk to Red Lion at Litton (excellent food). Loads of lovely walks on doorstep.

Pleasant site behind good pub and deli, with good facilities.

May 2021

Liked Scenic location. Small site with friendly feel. Good pub serving food and ales, with lovely beer garden- we were lucky to have glorious weather to enjoy it! The ‘shop at the top’ on site also sells a good range of deli items and essentials, and serve pizzas on a weekend. Clean and modern facilities- toilets close to the pitches, showers next to pub. The birds in the aviary (which is at the end of the beer garden and so next to the campsite) were a little noisy early in the morning. We were only stopping one night though so it wasn’t a problem - but just be prepared for the cockerel wake up call!
