Non-electric grass pitch
Liked The price per night for non-electric being so close to a city centre.
Email prior to arrival giving detailed information on arrival.
Friendly wardens/rangers.
Height barrier security which made it very safe.
Plenty of different camping areas to suit all requirements.
Proximity to National Watersports Centre for walking and to bus routes to access Nottingham.
Plenty of toilets and showers, although a little tired and in need of some TLC.
Disliked We were put in a camping field with lots of tents with children (it was the summer holidays) and our motorhome was hit by a ball. Perhaps parking motorhomes and caravans separate to tents could be an option. I do appreciate that if we booked an electric pitch this may have been different but for one night we did not require electric to reduce our costs.

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch
Liked Received email prior to arrival giving good details of site and arrival.
Greeted at the gate and let in so arrival was very smooth.
Secure coded gate so felt safe.
No set limits on electric use which is great for the price per night.
Water point on pitch for ease of filling.
WiFi was available but great 5G signal on O2.
Plenty of showers and toilets.
Pressure on showers was excellent.
Good hardstanding pitches and we had plenty of choice to ensure a level stay. Some were slightly off level though.
Good information point and nice size fridge for those requiring use of one.
Lovely views across the fields and was peaceful (when the planes weren’t taking off)
Great view of planes taking off from East Midlands airport.
Disliked No ventilation in the showers so everything got damp with the steam from the shower. Take minimal stuff with you when showering.
Washing up water was not very hot.
No tap/hose next to Elsan point to rinse cassette and toilet bowl. Was a bit smelly. There was a hose next to the grey water point which seemed to stretch but not practical.

Skegness, Lincolnshire, England
Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Large level pitches, clean site, nice toilet/shower block, good showers
Disliked Road noise on our pitch (54) - being near gate so being disturbed by noise from road but also people coming back from Skegness in early hours of the morning!

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you had to experience this however, due to the location of the site we can't help the road noise. We hope you will reconsider visiting us again.

Meadow non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked The friendly welcome and assistance during our stay, the peace and quiet of the rural setting, the portaloo and kitchen area, the picnic benches to be able to sit for meals, closeness to pubs and shops for eating and supplies, the walking in the area, the fire pit area. Nice children’s play area for families.
Disliked It’s a field so pitches are uneven. Didn’t bother us too much but might concern some.
