Do you like the sound of direct access to the National Forest, with its miles of scenic wooded tracks for walking and cycling? How about adding in views of Derbyshire’s centuries-old St Mary and St Hardulph Priory Church, atop Breedon Hill? If you answered ‘yes’ to both, then you should be heading for Barley Fields Holidays, on the Leicestershire–Derbyshire border. This peaceful adults-only site also has stunning views to the Peak District National Park to the north, and the Vale of Belvoir to the east. And just when you thought things couldn’t get any better, you’ll be pleased to learn that your dogs can join you, that the site has modern showers and loos, and that – although barbecues are allowed on site – you’re only 10 minutes’ stroll from a popular Breedon on the Hill pub that serves decent grub. On arrival, get set up and… just chill. Life will take care of itself. Sit back, relax, watch the horses in the neighbouring fields and see if you can spot/hear any of the following: cuckoos calling in late spring, swallows arriving on their early summer stop-overs and birds of prey circling overhead. And on clear evenings, you have a pretty decent chance of bagging yourself a truly spectacular sunset. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

A serene adults-only rural escape with stunning views and great walks. Facilities are modern & spotless. Hosts are friendly, location's handy for villages, pubs & Donington Park. Minor aircraft noise but mostly unobtrusive. Well-kept, good value.

Great showers, toilets, washing u facilities
There’s even a dog washing station.
Pub within walking distance although take a torch as there’s no street lighting on the streets

Liked What a lovely site, great welcome from the wardens, who had great local knowledge. Facilities had everything and were spotless. So nice to see so many trees being planted, will definitely be back in the spring to see the wild flowers planned.

Liked A lovely little site. A very warm welcome from Trevor, explaining where everything was. 😃 Did not use toilets or showers as used our own but check them out and very clean and tidy. The WI-FI was excellent. Would definitely recommend and return. 😁

Liked Really great stay on this lovely peaceful site.
Nice scenery everywhere you look including donkeys in the field behind and the church above which is a must visit for the good walk and views for miles
Plenty of facilities for the size of the site and really good wifi too.
2 nice pubs in the village only a short walk away.

Liked Nice quiet site near eastmidlands u slightly ear the planes but quite relaxing if anything. The couple who own it are lovely. Electric and water at all the pitches which is nice. Showers and toilets are nice and clean

Liked Fantastic campsite for Donington park events, campsite is very clear and well cared for.

Adult only site so it's very quiet, hard standing pitches all have electric and water hookup is possible but you may need a double adaptor to share the tap with your neighbour.

We really enjoyed our stay, it was really peaceful and relaxing, and Terry & Kerry are very friendly and happy to help if required.
