  • Fishing, centrally located outdoor pool, hot tub and playground
Yeeha... pull on your boots and whack on a hat, for you’re about to enter cowboy country. And not just any old cowboy country – the town of Bandera, where the Pioneer River Resort is located, calls itself ‘the Cowboy Capital of the World’. Those pioneers knew a thing or two about picking a spot to settle – the resort is right on the banks of the Medina river and surrounded by trees for a scenic country vibe. Facilities have moved on since the days of the Wild West though, so roll your RV into the park and hook your trusty steed up to a whole range of useful services including electricity, sewerage and cable TV. Bring your fishing kit along to see what you can hook in the river; you’ll often find fellow guests having a bit of a fish fry of an evening so follow your nose if you need a few tips on catching and cooking. For dips, head over to the outdoor pool or have a bubble in the hot tub while the kids are at the adjacent playground; after that, gather all together for a family game of shuffleboard. Several restaurants are a few minutes’ walk away, along with some good old country-style bars with music and dancing.
