Warm months, cool months and all weathers in between have activities in the Svealand setting of Steiner's Camping and Lodge, or you could just stick around lakeside for shoreside rambles, sledding, fishing and kayaking. If you're around in summer, have some biking around the lake or nearby in Gesunda and its mountain bike centre with kilometres' worth of trails to plunge downhill at, or try cantering in the Mora countryside via the horse riding centre about 20 minutes from Steiner's. Wintery and skiing options are all around – tis Sweden after all – like down the slopes of the cross country trails around the site and in the nearby resorts of Sälen, Idre and Romme. If you're of a competitive or mighty fit bent, the cross-country skiing event of Vasaloppet is the oldest, longest and biggest of its kind in the world, running for 90 kilometres from Sälen to Mora since 1922. And if you've been very very good? Those who yearn to see Santa (yes) can excitedly travel to Santaland, the Santa theme park on the Gesunda Mountain south of Mora, to meet Mr Claus and his band of merry elves.
