Kampeerpark De Boshoek

Hiking, biking, museums, golf and the highest density of amusement parks in Europe… all are in the area around Recreatiepark De Boshoek in Holland's biggest province of Gelderland. Biking first: the site is in the De Hoge Veluwe National Park, one of the largest nature reserves in Holland at 5,400 hectares and with 40 kilometres of cycle paths to explore. Pedalling through these landscapes is a bit of a must if you're staying in these parts, as the park lays on 1,800 white bikes for free use including bikes for kids and bikes with front or rear children's seats. After cycling (do get along all 40 kilometres if you can manage it), have a culture vulture afternoon out at the Kröller-Müller Museum, an art museum started by Helene Kröller-Müller who began to collect the works of Vincent van Gogh in the 1930s. It has the second biggest collection of paintings by Van Gogh in the world (the biggest is of course at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam) and is also famed for its sculpture garden, one of the biggest in Europe at over 30 hectares. Closer to home, a fine 18-hole golf course is an easy bike ride away.
