Fond of flowers? You'll blooming well love this botanical gem in Provence. No need to be an expert gardener: you don’t even have to know your dahlias from your dandelions to appreciate a site so surrounded by lush vegetation. A lot of care goes into Camping Le Dattier’s gardens, to give a setting of plants and trees, shrubs and flowers reflecting the Mediterranean habitat, cooling and scenting the whole place. The care goes into all the other corners as well on this fine French site a 10-minute drive from Fréjus and its beach; it's equally proud of its pair of swimming pools (one more suited to smaller swimmers), along with a games room, table tennis and tennis courts. If you’re less of a smash-it-over-the net type, and more of a sit-and-sip, you’ll have ample opportunity at the on-site bar and restaurant whose terrace is bang in the middle of a grove of lemon trees (handy if you want an extra slice in your G&T…). Shops for stocking up and life’s essentials (sun cream, more sun cream) are a couple of minutes' walk away. For coastal capers, both Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël (15 minutes’ drive) are big on watersports, from sedate canoeing to paragliding and jetskiing.

Spacious pitches & tranquil vibe. Pools & restaurant a hit, staff friendly. BUT, noise from youngsters/animations sometimes an issue, site's hilly. Sanitary facilities get mixed reviews on cleanliness, and bin space can be tight. Wi-Fi pricey for some, large vehicles tricky.

Liked Difficult to give a good review when nothing is catered towards a campers needs. The swimming pool was very good .

Disliked There was no drinking water supply. There was no chemical toilet disposal point . The pitches were only available because static mobile homes had been moved out. Access to the site is very tight and anyone with a unit over 7 m would struggle to get in .certainly a no go for a larger caravan combo. This not a great site to visit and as stated the pitches are only available because mobile homes have vacated pitches the site does not cater for caravans and motor homes .

Liked L'accueil et les service proposé. Les piscines sont propre. L'emplacement pour la tente était bien situé. Les sanitaires et douche sont nettoyés plusieurs fois dans la journée ce qui est vraiment bien. Petit recommandation , laissé peu être une raclette a disposition dans les douches pour nettoyé après Passage pour ne pas laissé de sable ou autre.

Liked La piscine est plutôt belle et propre, mais il y a un manque évident de transats.

Disliked Ayant séjourné en tente pendant une semaine, il n'y a eu qu'une seule nuit où l'on a pu réellement bien dormir. Camping très très bruyant ! Les emplacements de tente sont mélangés avec les camping-cars et les mobil-homes. Le pire reste les voitures qui ont accès à tout le camping à n'importe quelle heure de la nuit, de ce fait, réveillé toutes les nuits à 3 ou 4h du matin. Et pour finir, la cerise sur le gâteau, le lavage des sanitaires au Karcher ou le décapage, je ne sais pas trop, à 7h30 tous les matins, donc réveillé sur-le-champ.

Manque cruellement d'animation,et niveau restauration je ne peut pas donné mon avis, car la seule soirée ou l'on devais mangé sur place, ils on pas ouvert , sans plus d'explication.

Liked Staff are friendly, bus stop close by next to the pizza takeaway to go to Frejus €1.50 pp

Disliked the pitches are down a really steep hill 2 pools, bar and restaurant are located at the top of the hill so any one with mobility issues you will have trouble

Les sanitaires etait super sale !
Le camping me semblait sale.
Niveau de la piscine les gents reserver leur transats des le matin mais n’etait pas a la piscine ... donc impossible d’avoir un transate.

Liked La végétation du camping qui est belle

Disliked Très déçu de ce camping, qui ne mérite clairement pas ses 4 étoiles. Les sanitaires sont sales et semblent simplement avoir été nettoyés rapidement au karcher, sans véritable entretien ( pas de produit désinfectant) Les piscines sont également abîmées, colmatées avec des gros morceaux de silicone et des carreaux manquent un peu partout. Certains murs sont lézardés, ce qui donne une impression générale de manque d entretien des lieux, c était certainement un camping 4 étoiles il y a 20 ans mais depuis il est très mal entretenu.
De plus, la circulation la nuit est assez gênante et empêche de profiter d’un séjour vraiment reposant. Aucun contrôle après une certaine heure ( même si le portail se ferme ) les occupants peuvent aller sur leur emplacement jusqu à 4h alors qu ils devraient laisser leur véhicule à l accueil à partir d une certaine heure. Pour un camping 4 étoiles, on s’attend clairement à beaucoup mieux, aussi bien au niveau de la propreté que de l’entretien des infrastructures et du calme.
C était notre semaine de vacances en famille et elle n a pas été bonne malheureusement…

Local attractions

Diehard beach bunnies could spend their whole holiday hopping round the coast and sampling the sands at Cannes (40 minutes’ drive), Antibes (45 minutes) and Nice (50 minutes). If you’re into a quieter and wilder kind of seaside experience, head to Bouloris (25 minutes) to clamber the red rocks and find hidden coves. Walkers are well sorted here too, with the nature-filled Esterel massif to explore half an hour away. Heading further and deeper into Provence, the ancient villages of Fayence and Callas are 45 minutes away, as is Grasse, home to lavender meadows, perfume and a museum of perfume too. Markets in Fréjus, Saint-Raphaël and Saint Aygulf (15 minutes) are supremely handy for local produce, picking up presents for Gran and the simple pleasure of strolling about and stopping for a coffee when it suits. Not everyone takes it so slow of course… if even the Mediterranean fails to excite then Aqualand waterpark (10 minutes) has Europe’s biggest wave machine, and a similar distance away there are thrill rides and larks aplenty at Lunapark. To sit still and be thrilled meanwhile, the cast of sharks and dolphins, penguins and seals puts on a show at Marineland near Antibes (45 minutes).
