It's free, quick and easy!
- Friendly Périgord Noir site on the bank of the Dordogne
- Within 20 minutes' drive of Sarlat and Castelnaud-la-Chapelle
- Pool, Jacuzzi, snack bar, terrace, shop, playground and library
Sitting on the Dordogne riverbanks, Camping La Sagne is a friendly site well placed for exploring the Périgord Noir and its châteaux-lined landscape. Into your medieval towns? These are plentiful in the area, with the lovely streets of Sarlat being a 15-minute drive away. There’s direct access to the river as well for canoeing and kayaking… or just to wander about by the water.
The site has ample activities for all ages, including a heated and covered pool (open from April) for swims on sunny as well as rainy days. Alongside a paddling pool and Jacuzzi corner, a playground, pétanque court and table tennis keep guests entertained on dry land.
A refurbished farmhouse is set up as a communal area: kids can play board games while parents read a novel from the library (French, English and Dutch books all line the shelves here). Children can get creative during the organised summertime activities, from treasure hunts and crafts to painting and cooking, before rejoining the family for magic shows, karaoke and concerts in the evenings.
The snack bar’s also in the farmhouse, serving dishes like Périgord salads and Sarlat pizzas to eat in or take away, and there's an outdoor terrace for coffee or a cold drink on sunny afternoons. The site also has a grocery shop with plenty of locally sourced produce; bread and croissants are delivered every morning to reception if you get the urge to kick off your day with a freshly baked treat.
