Electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Amazing location, beautiful lake you can boat on, lovely stream the children enjoyed playing in and even some children’s swings dotted about. Loved having the fire pits with each pitch and picnic tables.

Disliked: Only one shower, but it is free, hot and large.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: This was a gem of a campsite surrounded by hills and woodland. The pitches were a great size with the added bonus of a fire pit and picnic table. The facilities included washing-up, water, toilets, showers and a family bathroom and they were never busy! You could buy wood and pay to freeze your ice blocks. Children had a woodland play area. The road in was an adventure! (Keep an eye out for passing places!) Owls were the only sound after everyone had settled! The owners were friendly and it was a very relaxing stay. We didn't want to leave!

Electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Absolutely loved this campsite. Nice and hidden away in the north of wales. We got to stay in the private hideaway pitch. And that was lovely as we had our 7 month old baby with us. Would highly recommend

Disliked: Could possibly have a few more facilities and maybe a little farm shop to get essentials at - local eggs/milk etc

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Peaceful location. Lovely views depending on where u pitch up. Nice touch with the firepit and bench provided. Their were lots of children enjoying themselves. Small lake a short walk up the hill, kids and adults will love! Pub at the very bottom of the road on left, brilliant food and good beer garden for kids.

Disliked: The road too the campsite, but worth it when you get there!

Local attractions

The area around Hideaway in the Hills is tramping terrain: this section of north Wales is riddled with walks for all abilities including the Wales Coastal Path. This is also the only local site with direct access to the Ardudwy Way, a 23-mile route between Barmouth and Llandecwyn with sea and mountain views. Llandanwg beach is under three miles away; this sheltered part of shore can land anglers mackerel, flatfish and bass and is popular with other watery types for windsurfing and kayaking. And it’s probably the only beach in the world with a 13th-century church hidden among its sand dunes... To the north of the beach on Tremadog Bay seaside town of Harlech with medieval Harlech Castle. The castle is crammed with history and was the site of the longest siege in British history during the Wars of the Roses; be sure and lustily sing ‘Men of Harlech’ as you stomp around. At nearby Barmouth, catch a pedestrian ferry at the quay and join up with the narrow-gauge Fairbourne & Barmouth Railway at Barmouth ferry station for a two-mile trip through top Snowdonia scenery.
