What customers say

Stunning views near Belfast. Friendly staff & decent grub. BUT, loos/showers a bit grim (cleanliness, size, hot water issues). Pitches basic, site untidy; building work caused noise.

Fully-serviced grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Nettes Personal, relativ ebene Stellplätze, schöne Sicht, ruhig, nah an Belfast

Fully-serviced grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Nothing

Disliked This place is like faulty towers on steroids! Where do I start? Firstly this place offers ZERO fully serviced pitches, they sell them as fully serviced but they only offer electric hookup, I turned up without a aqua roll as my caravan connects directly to the water supply and also didn’t have a waste hog as we connect directly to a drain, which is why I bought a FULLY serviced pitch, I ended up borrowing both off a friend who lives locally, day 2 of my 3 day trip, the water goes off, that meant no flushing toilets on the site, no showers, nothing…. Not even toilet paper in the loos! Which were full to the brim as other customers used the loos but couldn’t flush! Yuck!! This remained like that for 12 hours! The water came back for approximately 2 hours and went off for the final day, it’s such a shame as the pub attached to the site was actually nice, we didn’t eat but we saw some pretty decent looking food going past my table as we needed a drink by this point, so it’s a shame really. They offer hot tubs on site which seems nice but it’s £160 for a day!!! PLUS £100 deposit I mean who on earth would use a hot tub at that price? Mind you not that it would Have made a difference as they had no water half the time. All in all I would prefer to wild came and take everything I need than stay here again, the toilets and showers were grubby and not worth the £35 a night they are charging, I did complain but it fell on deaf ears, I asked countless times when’s the water coming back but got ”when the tank refills as someone left a tap on“ how ridiculous the entire site can be left without water simple due to 1 person leaving a tap on? They have a captive audience here as it’s the only site near Dublin, I think their moto is if you’ve paid for a service pitch your stuffed by the time you get there, and you’ve paid so good luck getting money back.

Local attractions

Boots at the ready… you can walk straight from the lodge onto the Divis mountain trail, or the Black Mountain trail, both of which have gorgeous views along with a good amount of wildlife to spot (see if you can spot any red grouse or peregrine falcons overhead as you look out towards the Belfast skyline). More walks? Head out into the Antrim Coast and Glens Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (35 minutes’ drive) or aim south to the mountains of the Mourne Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (50 minutes). If you’ve not managed to spot any big birds along the trails, you’ll surely have better luck at World of Owls (35 minutes). For magnificent buildings, meanwhile, try Antrim Castle (20 minutes) or Carrickfergus Castle (half an hour). Belfast (15 minutes) is a grand place for a day out too – perhaps visiting the Titanic Museum and Crumlin Road Gaol or taking a black cab tour to learn about the city’s troubled history.
